I am checking up on the Elite now as HDMI appears to be not all that important. I can't find any concrete evidence but it appears that the Sound on the Elite is HDMI only ? In which case it's no good to me as I only have coax or optical for sound. I only needed HDMI for the 1080P picture, but 1080I would be good enough to compromise if it meant losing the sound :-(

You get an adapter to plug into the xbox which has analog rca and optical output.

360 can output 1080p with the component cables as of the downloadable update like a year ago.

Another question, the person who my brother spoke to about getting his xbox chipped said that stealth thing does not work.

Well for people running the latest ixtreme there has currently been no big bans, maybe someone but you can never be to sure, its a risk your taking.

tijafasn: That is true, but only with hdmi or vga cable the dvd player upscale dvd movies to 1080p, with component you only get 1080i.

Is there a possibility I could have the SATA controller I need to flash my Samsung (MS-25) in my PC already? I seem to remember it having some sort of SATA connection (The mobo is about 4 years old though), and the only one I could find in Australia that's compatible costs $30!
If so, how would I check what SATA controller I have / find drivers for it.

theres lots of modders in the US who do the hitachi 79

the only way to find out which hitachi model you have is take the case off

Couple of questions here.

1. Can you output 1080p from your Xbox 360 using the old video connector (not HDMI)? I have the component cable and I tried to get 1080p on component, but my Panasonic Viera black screens me. Do you need to use the VGA cable to achieve 1080p using the non-HDMI video connector on the Xbox 360? I have installed the latest update for Xbox 360 firmware.

2. I recently flashed my Hitachi 46D drive with iXtreme 1.2, when I burn pretty recent games like Orange Box, Halo 3 and BioShock they work fine. However, I downloaded and burned Fight Night Round 3, and I got the "put this disc in an Xbox 360 console" screen, does anybody know why? I've noticed the disc label on the games that work is "X2GDVD_NTSC" and on Fight Night Round 3 it's "XBOX360". Also the the X2GDVD_NTSC games are "Sonic Scenarist" and the XBOX360 discs are something beginning with D...

Thanks guys.

if you'd of done your reading properly which is included with the firmware files you flashed

you know ixtreme firmware is meant to play only stealthed backups which is mainly for xbox live if you dont use live then reflash xtreme firmware

but if you do use live and you wont older backups to work you have to patch them using xdvdmulleter

360 definitely outputs 1080p via components with no adapters necessary--I am doing it right now.  Because of the fact that the 360 allows you to select 1080p, I would doubt that the 360 is your problem.  My old TV that didnt have 1080p would go black as well.  The most likely cause is that your TV may not accept 1080p via component cables.  Many Tvs only accept via HDMI.

If that is the case, I wouldnt sweat it, as I really dont notice much of a difference, even on a 65" screen.

EDIT:
Looks like its confirmed:

65"?!!!

MOFO.

Will my TV give 1080p using VGA cable instead? It does have a VGA port on the back.

lol... not sure about VGA, but i think its uncommon.  Doesnt hurt to try though.  At least if it doesnt work, you will know why.

And check out the edit to my last post in case you missed it.

My Sony 40" W series will accept 1080p through VGA although you have to clear unsupported signal message.

Will only do 1080i with 360 through component though, probably because Sony and M$ don't mix very well. ;-)

probably not a good idea.  How did you get banned?  Where are you from, what were you playing, was it burned, stealthed/patched, what firmware were you using?

i just heard that anyone with a modified firmware installed was getting banned, like everyone who logs onto Live with their modded firmware.

Well, the update to the story says that it looks like a disc issue again, and not a firmware problem.  I was just on Live right now playing madden with no problems, other than getting my ass kicked as usual.

I didn't want to make a new topic as I felt this thread was relevant to my question.

I have a Samsung TS-H943 MS-28 that I got off eBay a few days ago along with the 360 console. It seems the person I bought it from screwed up the flashing, but lucky for me I was able to dump the firmware to get the drive key.

What I'm trying to get is an original MS-28 firmware from somebody here so I can "inject" my own drive key into it and flash the drive back to it's original firmware, because at the current moment the console only plays dvds and NOTHING else, not even originals. Clearly the person before me didn't know what the hell he was doing!

If anyone could send me one of their original MS28 firmware dumps, untouched, I would really appreciate it.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

edit: found what I needed, thanks to the people who PM'ed me!

A new problem though, it seems the idiot who tried to flashed the drive replaced the drive with another one. HUGE mistake as the original drive key was in the original drive. The drive key I have is from some other motherboard.

I'm just making sure I'm screwed?? Am I? Has there been any progress on finding the drive key in the motherboard itself? If not I guess I have to wait till that day comes.... *sign*
