Hey, does any of you knows if I can run a NTSC/JPN game on a NTSC/USA Xbox 360?
Thanks

It depends...

If you can figure out how to flash your drive by yourself, then I'd go with that because it's cheaper and you can upgrade your firmware yourself if you need to.

With the Globe you can switch between the original and the Xtreme firmware but it costs money and I don't know if you can upgrade the firmware.

Some of the newer Xboxes have drives that are hard to flash yourself. If you have one of those, then the Globe is probably the best/only bet.

If the game is region free, then you can. If it isn't, then you can't. Most japanese games are region locked, so they won't work. Blue Dragon for instance.

So, I'm considering buying a modded xbox 360 with the new NME 1.2 chip, so my questionis if you guys think I should go ahead or whatever. Oh and it's going to cost me ~550 €.

Why don't you buy a pre-owned console and flash the firmware yourself. Would be at least 200 € cheaper.
My premium was 309 € with an extra wireless controller. The flashing is relatively easy. I was thinking it would be really troublesome, but I ended up modding it in 15 minutes.

How does i use a backup game , on a xbox360 with hacked firmware? Lets say i have downloaded Links.golf.tiger.xxx.test and have unpacked it ? How do i proceed to burn it? Is it just a img i burn with img burner? or do i have to build a img ? And after the dvd are burned, is it just to stick it in the drive and everything works flawless?

And what is this i read about somthing abou bookmark on your dvd writer? Must you have bookmarking options on your writer to burn backups? Or is this only the ones who is dual layer?

Use the best Clonecd, you can use other programs but the iso and dvd file where created to use with clonecd in mind.
test it after its burnt, sometimes different media will not work even if its burnt ok.
use Verbatim DVD+R DL there the best.
Burn at a low speed eg: 1 x speed

well theres 2 links i have that will help you out alot. i have a pioneer 111D and it comes with the bittsettings done, so check your DL-dvd Burner drive with these.

Up until Xtreme 5.0 which was released a couple of days ago, all games had to be burned on DL media. Both 360 games and Xbox1 games.

5.0 added support for making backups on single-layer discs, but I haven't seen any releases in that format yet.

So far 5.0 is only available for the Samsung drives. Until it's available for Hitachis I doubt you'll see any scene releases in single-layer format.

So for all practical purposes, all games need to be burned on DL media.

I got my xbox360 premium today with firmware hack, so is it safe to use it on xbox live, not playing games, but just download things like arcade classics and other stuff?

At least according to this thread your burner is not compatible.

Best bet is getting a Pioneer 111D
