I'm getting a 360 soon and wondering about few things.

First of all I plan on using it with my 19" LCD monitor (at least for now), the native resolution is 1440x900. How's the picture since 360 only supports 480, 720 and 1080 resolutions? Also how is it displayed since the aspect ratio of the monitor is 16/10 instead of 16/9 like with those resolutions? I think minor stretching isn't a big deal.

Secondly I naturally need some speakers, any recommendations? Obviously you have to be able to plug the 360 directly into them. Preferably a  2.1 set, no surround for now.

Personally I don't recommend flashing your 360 because it's pretty hard and the chances of failing are too big. Wait for a chip to become available instead, like the one Graves told us about at the top of this page (#672583).

I bought virtual surround headphones (HQ-2300D) and connected them to the optical output and I can really recommend it, it's pretty cheap and the sound is great! I used a toslink-to-mini optical cable to connect the optical output on the 360 with the optical input on the portable decoder that comes with the headphones. This way can I get a "Dolby Digital" (or DTS if watching a movie) input and a "Dolby Headphones" output. The headphones and the cable togheter cost me almost 800SEK (~80€).

Question: I'v hooked up my 360 to my pc to play online and sins we have wireless internet I tought why buy a 80 euro modem when a € 5 corssing cable also does the trick. but now i start to wonder if there is any speed difference etc.  between the to connection types. So, is There?

I dont mind if I need to burn them to a disk.
I tried converting avi to mpg (MPEG2) It didnt work(with Videora Xbox360 Converter)

Gears.of.War.PAL.XBOX360-DNL has Gears.of.War.PAL.FiX.XBOX360-DNL ( consists of IMAGE.dvd )

Do i simply delete the original IMAGE.dvd that came with the relase and replace it?
As the IMAGE.dvd is only a few KB, what is it anyway, does it act like .cue when it comes to PC-ISO?
I should load the IMAGE.dvd file to clone dvd or the IMAGE.000?

Convert your AVI movies to WMV format and put them in your my videos folder then you can stream them from your PC/XBOX360 to watch through your TV.

I've been considering getting a Core system for the time being as I don't have much cash or need for the wireless controller or HD component lead but with the price of he Hard drive being almost the difference in price between the 2 systems it seems kinda nuts not to get the Premium.
So I wanted need to know whether or not it’s at all possible to get the benefit of a hard drive without having to buy the official one, is it possible to make use of an old 10GB hard drive and how important is is to have a hard drive?

as for the HDD, well i think its a must have. just for the sake you wont be able to download more then 1 demo at a time (if at all 1) on  memorycard for the X360, and then you need to put all you game saves on that & profile & Arcade games + + +  (get the picture)
so its a def buy, anyway prem is like £170/80 on some sites now with 1 or 2 games.

What the hell? £170/£180 I've only seen core systems for that price and no games. Please give me some websites.

Anyway I think I have to go for the Premium system, if I need the Hard Drive then it makes sense.

Did anyone made a succesfull firmware upgrade allready so that he was able of playing a downloaded X-Box 360 game? And if you did, what guide did you used and what drive do you have inside your X-Box 360?

My brother just bought a 360, and now I want one too.
sure its sounds redicioulos too buy one more in the family,
the thing is he wont let me play sometimes and thats realy annoying!
Im a sucker for gears of war any chance I get I'm at the xbox playing my thumbbs of, but thats not often enough, but Im also very very intressed in buying a ps3, the problem is there is it has'nt been realesed in sweden yet.
So now Im turning to TB for advise... Tell me, what the hell should I do?

Wait for the ps3 and youll have some levergae to play 360.  When your brother sees that youll let him play your ps3, hopefully he'll see that its okay to let you play.

BUT, I have a brother and I know these things rarely work out, so get another 360 if you really want to.  Im assuming theres at least 2 tvs right?

yep there 3 but no one in HD yet. so Im saving my money now and next month I'll be buying a Hd-ready Tv!
Fuck yeah! guess who wont be playing the 360 on it without my permission!
