Actually TBC and WOTLK was far away from as good as vanilla WoW.

just vashj and kaelthas patch, was epic. bt/hyjal sucked imo, swp was very good, if you had some people with brains raiding that is. as for pvp, it sucks and will most likely always suck in WoW. even though the most skilled people of the game are pvpers. (IMO)

vanilla wow, hmm it seems im the only one here thinking this. but it was shit compared to TBC. no strategies for bosses, everything was just mindless zerging, critmania. imbalance at its peak. only thing i miss are the AV days, ADVANCE ADVANCE!.

edit: oh and wotlk.. is a game breaker i quit 6 months ago after clearing everything in in wotlk a few weeks after release, sartharion 3 drakes, was quite tricky. but not close to sunwell level, twins, m'uru, kj

as of patch 3.1 ive started playing again though, but too busy with work to raid

oh well oh the bright side it good to not raid

Hmm, This is propably not exactly what I had when I lvled my DK, but I hope it helps.

If you read the WoW forums they can help. Uholy is fastest for leveling and blood slowest.

That is just plain wrong, unless you mean leveling in a group, you can solo any 2 ppl quest just as fast as 1.

Blood has extremely good survivability.

Ye, almost the same as i made myself, thanks mate.

Personally i found blood to be easier actually, tried taking on 8 mobs in unholy, didnt work, but it did work as blood because of all the HP stuff you get.

Leveled all the way to 80 with my death knight with unholy spec, was so fast and so good.

Survivability while leveling isn't worth the time spent on healing yourself. If you need a heal - death strike, and you get enough back. Again, unholy in my opinion is the best, mainly because of 3 diseases + death strike = insane heal.

Check my spec up on my character, if you need any guidelines. I'm currently frost for single-target dps in ulduar, and unholy for AoE tanking. (Spent over 4000 gold on respecs, so any questions for death knight talents, shoot!)

Unholy's also the best single target raid DPS. 0/10/61 with Black Ice does insane single target DPS.

Funnily enough Frost (with the HB glyph) does the most AE dps for me on bosses like Thorim, Hodir, and Auriya. Shit dies quickly and I can easily pull 7k plus DPS with ridiculous Frost Strike crits. I shudder to think what the crits will be like with the sigil from XT.

Any way, raiding is getting really boring now. The bosses in Ulduar are amazingly well designed, but it takes far too long to set up for a boss and it feels like a chore to raid nowadays. Especially if you're raiding with people who aren't playing with a full deck of cards..

I did 2 DK's to 80, one with blood and then i tried one with unholy since people said that was the best.
I still think blood for levling, unholy for raid dps.
Blood wont let you die, even if you try an 3man quest a couple of levels above you, the mark still saves you.

Besides, what you're saying is that you're finding Ulduar boring because it takes far too long to set up for a boss, which in my eyes looks like you want it to be naxx-trash that you clear in 1� hour.

I'm sure I wouldn't like Ulduar to be something you clear in one night, but I guess that since you speak like that, you're the most hard-core raider that can't be bothered with trash mobs, only wants loot and one-shot bosses

It is actually. But, you know.. the spec that you feel more comfortable playing is always going to work out better for you. If someone is more comfortable with a certain rotation then it stands to reason that they'll perform better.

And I said DPS.. as in, DPS at the END of the boss fight, not spike damage with two packs of worms before Hodir or something idiotic like that. The guild I'm in doesn't run with a ton of "wtfpro" players so while we do down bosses it's by no means with ground-breaking DPS or even a speed-kill.

And not like it's any of your damn business, but no, I'm no hardcore raider that wants to steam through every thing in Ulduar. I do however get tired of putting in 110% each raid when 9/10 people in the raid are putting in less than 50%.

But yes, I take offence to people making smart alec comments when they know nothing about someone. You should try not sounding like an asshole when replying to a post if you don't want that someone to reply to you in the same manner.

You're right, I'm sorry.

Of course I meant end-boss fights. It depends though very much on what gear you have, if you have (4) set bonus of either T7 or T8, both are very optimal for unholy spec.

However, you know the T8 (2) set bonus? Increases critical strike chance on frost strike & death coil by 8%, and frost strike IS doing more damage then death coil could ever do, so that was a big pointer for me.

Sure, frost has howling blast, aoe, but alot of talents in unholy are focused on AoE, like morbidity (lowers CD on D&D), necrosis, wandering plague, hence why I tank in unholy aswell.

Somehow, I can't help to see that unholy is more optimal for single-target threat for tanking though, frost just doesn't beat it. Kind of confused about that since my DPS on pro-longed fights like general vezax or even ignis really does shine.

No worries, dude. I have bad experiences with these forums so I hop into defensive mode like instantly.

Frost is great, no doubt about it. I'm really tempted to go frost full-time once I get the sigil. I don't know when or if that'll even happen now that I've taken a break from raiding for a month or so. And I totally agree; Unholy is still the king for AE fights.. except when the adds die really quickly. That's when I like to be frost so I can pull a Death Chill + Howling Blast on every thing in the immediate vicinity.

I've noticed the same for Unholy tanking. It always used to get beaten (for me) by Frost, but now it's pretty insane TPS compared to what it was. I really don't know what changed, though..

Also spec elemental for uberpewpew-fast leveling

Serriously, taking on three or four mobs is ridiculesly easy as elemental, not to mention that you're never ever going to run out of mana with Thunderstorm.
