Is it still a huge grindfest? Honest answers plz no fanboy nonsense saying it never was. If it isnt i might go back to it eventually

Im a fanboy, but ill gladly admit that the main thing about the game is grinding. Grind for facton-reputation. And the amunt of experience needed for levling up is.. HIGH.
I think you need around 1.700.000 exp in level 72->73, and you get in average a 800 exp per. mob and 22.000 each quest.
Its just the same shit in a different wrapping. But a much nicer wrapping, with more stuff too do, and more usefull quest rewards, and faction reputation rewards.

If you think TBC was a grindfest, this will be a grindfest too. (but a better one)

Yea, what he said.
I would like to add that its about 1.800.000 exp from 79-80 however, so overall from the  1.550.000 you need for 70-71 there isnt alot of exp difference.

And totally nice wrappings, the landscape are awesome and so is the music, this expansion is what TBC should've been like x 100 imo.

ok its a grindfest still then, will stick to games with a bit of structure to them.

yeah dead boring quest, hate it when there is like kill one guy that only spawn once every so minutes so you have to wait when other aoe spamming to tag the guy etc etc.
Loads of those quests around just fkn hate them.

Prefer TBC quests tbh just give me all the quest like 15 of them at the same time and do all of em lol.
Not just 5 and a long quest chain.

I'm not after Lore so this might be fun for those who read the quests.

Hmm, not sure what you're on about, but where i am questing (still in borean tundra) there arent that many kill one guy that takes forever to spawn, and the ones that are  that, doesnt take forever to spawn. 30 seconds tops.
Blizzard has increase spawnrate for about 2 months forward because the new expansion creates massive player occupations in the same zones.

I went from lvl 79 to 80 in 2<3 hours with only questing.

I just don't look at the exp and grind; I just do quests for the sake of fun.

Went mutilate on my rogue; it's quite a big difference than my previous swords build, and a lot of added fun at that.

Atm, this is the only reason why I'm thinking about activating my WoW account. The landscapes look like they actually belong to the world of Azeroth, unlike TBC. (I'm well aware that TBC isn't even Azeroth, it's Outland - but Outland sucked with all its futuristic shiny crap)
Thing is, I'm not sure if I can go casual in WoTLK. I really want to, but I don't know if I can stay away from hardcore raiding...

just activated my account. Where is the boat/ship that leads to new place?
(Don't have WOTLK yet, but I ordered it)

#1039971 by Calidus (Power User) at 2008-11-17 09:29:31 (4 years ago) - [Quote] - [Report]Top

There's a boat from the northern pier in Stormwind Harbor to Valiance Keep in Borean Tundra.
If you're Horde, take the airship from the new tower west of Orgrimmar.

To get to Howling Fjord, take the boat from Menethil Harbor or airship from Undercity if you're Horde.

Both zones are 68-72, it's your choice which one you do (first), or if you do both.

Thank you. I had no idea there was a harbor in stormwind

I know I'm late with Wotlk, but my box is gonna arrive in 4 hours, considering it's not even being sold in my country, i'm blessed that I had a friend over in UK and he's bringing it with him <3 Can't wait!

By the way, what do you guys recommend, Borean Tundra or Howling Fjord ? I was thinking Tundra.

Howling Fjord wins by far, start there! Tundra is dead boring.

Jesus christ... Blizzard FAILS again. Made the end game instances waay to easy.

Nihilum and SK Gaming have united and they have officially cleared ALL wrath of the lich kings End game instances. Their new guild called TwentyfifthNovember used a couple of day to clear it all.

Not only a boss or two but every single available end game boss. Tha'ts just silly, my own guild has also managed to clear the Naxxramas 10 man so far.

Blizzard said too many had a hard time clearing vashj and the hard bosses in TBC which made it hard for most players to see all end game content, even with the nerf right before wotl was launched.

So they decided to make the raiding abit more easier for most common people, but this was in my opinion over doing it.

dunno what you guys'n girls think about this.

What was your raid comp? We've got 2 lvl 80's, most are 76+ in SWP gear...

Well here's what happened.

I stopped playing a long time ago. Then once WoTLK came I thought, why don't I hop on my friend's account and say hello to everyone see who's still playing and maybe pick up the game. When I log on I get a msg that says (paraphrasing btw):

Your account has been updated to WoTLK but you do not have the latest version on your machine. go to the website and download it.

I do as I am instructed and voila, there it is, a copy of the game on my pc directly from blizzard. Now I log on to my friend's account everything is set up for play.

Now I am wondering, if I activate my account, will I have to go buy the game in order to play or can I play as it is? Kinda confusing and weird story but it did happen. What do you guys think?

If you "just" reactivate your account (and NOT get TBC) you'll probably just have to download a lot of patches, but you won't see that message.

On the other hand, if you DO get the TBC patch installed, then it won't matter; it'll work with both the upgraded TBC account as well as a normal account.

Same rules apply to WotLK probably, except there's no downloader for it.

a congratz is still in order i guess

It's not really the only one. They cleared Naxx 10-man, Naxx 25-man, Obsidian Sanctum 10-man, Obsidian Sanctum 25-man & Eye of Eternity (aka Malygos). If by end-game you meant the "toughest" currently availible content, then that would be Malygos.
