sunwell hunter here. (playing beta and live.) Hunter's are ontop in beta for dps. More so than 2.4. That said, even in 2.4 hunters were very top end if not on top.

FD isn't used to drink in raids these days and doing so would be a significant dps reduction anyways. Good hunters chain pot and between that and raid buffs, mana isn't really an issue. (talking about 2.4 here.) Not going to mention 3.0 dps on live because raiding right now is a joke.

I've seen rogues beat hunters a lot, but never fury warriors and I don't think threat is really what's limiting them.

yeah fury warriors? Joke? I've seen rogues beating hunters when they have the glaives but not before that. When I played my hunter I topped the chart till I stopped raiding mh/ssc. I followed a guild in black temple with a hunter with black bow, and he was doing some MAD dps.

and as xeo says, good hunters will use a pot rotation, but mana was never an issue for me even after the FD fix, now with shamans, pots and other mana regen fixes.

Reactivated my account again and really looking forward to WOTLK :-)

Only problem is i can't decide if i shud play my pala or mage :grumpy:

Been healer since beta and wan't a change. With one ret Pala per raid in my guild i am rly leaning towards my Mage.

Seriously tho, it's all down to personal preference for PvE. I could never play as a healer (watching health bars, oh the joy!) and I'm somewhat tired of playing mana classes (played a mage, hunter, paladin and a warlock; the warlock is the only one who doesn't really suffer from low mana problems due to Life Tap and Dark Pact). Now I'm playing a rogue and it feels so... free. Sure, I can't heal but I never go /oom either. :smirk:

Than again, I only got the mage to lvl 40 or such, the paladin to 55 and the hunter to... uhm... +-40... so what do I know?

Rerolling a DK myself with the intention of tanking in PvE. Love my shaman to bits.. even with the elemental nerfs, but I can't decide on what I would want her to be @ 80 and I'm tired of DPS'ing and healing.. having done both in end-game pre-TBC and TBC.

Thinking frost tank.. unholy for leveling, though. I do like unholy tanks with DnD but frost tanks get Howling Blast which I really like.. and unholy seems more the tree for damage mitigation and 5-man tanking.. whereas DK's are avoidance tanks and frost has a lot of good talents for avoidance.

Might change before release, but I dunno. She's also going to be a human female.. since I've always liked their model for casting and melee.. and their jump has that retarded kid feel to it.

Me and another guildie are both rolling DK's, so I think it might be a case of two unholys pulling two full camps of mobs and knocking out a couple of levels an hour that way. In Outland it doesn't really make a difference any way, since any gear from instances there would get replaced the second we hit Northrend. Although, I heard the blue DK set you get isn't replaced until level 70 any way.. or did they remove that set in favor of greens?

They get 20% slower though... but thats easily fixed with windfury totem.

And the 2h weapon has item stats from two 1h swords. Its gonna be kickass and the better stuff you get the better it scales.

Thats because you don't have the gear for it. It scales with gear and if it was overpowered now it would have been zomgbbqwtfcheezeburger overpowered when you get full epic after Naxx.

Playing some AV's now on cyclone Battle Group, and man its pathetic, horde never wins!!

I do love elemental Shaman. The knockback is fucking awesome, do some chainlightnings then run in and blast it away, 3 free kills.

Same on Reckoning. About the only BG where we (horde) sometimes win is AB. At least thats how it was before the last patch; since then I'm not PvPing.

I don't even play a warrior. I know from my warrior friends, most of whom are BT geared since we're in the same guild, that TG is not the way to go at the moment.

In wotlk it seems to be a lot better, but Blizzard has already said they're making arms and fury similar as far as DPS is concerned.

Because the stats on the weapons you can get now does not match up with the penalty you get. But once you get some real weapons with real stats its gonna be alot different.

Like when you compare level 70 to 80 the difference is 10 levels in stats and maybe 50 in item level giving room on the items for like +hit to prevent the penalty.
Also the 2h weapon has the stats from two 1h weapons meaning the higher the item level gets in the game the better titans grip will be.

Example: If titans grip was balanced around tier 4 or Karazhan then you would be fucking super awsome when you would get tier 6 or sunwell weapons because the stats on items would increase but the penalty still stay the same.

This will ofc be hard to balance and Blizzard is going to nerf warriors (like always) and the forums will get filled up with whine post after whine post...
