Wow... they screwed up nicely... I wonder if they'll compensate to those who's subscriptions are active.

Anyone did that race quest line for Netherwing? I'm on the last race (well, was before the servers went down), and just couldn't do it. I heard that getting small with Nogg helps, right?

I don't know about Noggenfogger, but I completed that final race with my druid and shammy alt a while back.
Of course, it was a bit more forgiving as a druid with instant shapeshifting, but it wasn't that hard
when I came and did it half a year later with an epic flying mount.
The trick for me was to disable the UI (Alt+Z if I remember) and just follow Skyshatter from a bit back and slightly above him, so I could dodge left and right.
That gave me a clear view of what was going on around me and if he was doubling back on himself to throw me off his trail.
The animation is sometimes off, I remember being knocked off by invisible projectiles, so I would just fly somewhat erradically to avoid those.
If you manage to get a handle on this during the first minute, you should have no trouble keeping up with him.
It's true that you he flies faster and you can't let him get very far away or you fail the quest, but overall it's pretty simple once you realize what you could improve.

Oh, and I'm not sure if they changed the race in any way over the past few patches, haven't been playing for a while now.
Judging by the comments over at wowhead, it seems he no longer doubles back.

Yeah, I've seen the movie. But I really don't think I can memorize the entire route, as that crystal field looks all the same to me.

Anyway, I've tried what you described (without the Alt-Z tho; doubt it's THAT important)... but I'd always get knocked off by one of those invisible projectiles. That's where Nogg is supposed to help; being small makes the meteors a mere nuisance.

Those Dragonmaw race quests were among the best ones for me,
as they weren't about grinding that 0.1% drop, but were down to practice and perfection.

I'm on horde... I join my first game of the day, and *gasp* we won!

I join the second, it's starting well, and then BAM! Server lags out completely. Seems to be down now.

Diablo III has just been confirmed and ingame footage has been shown at the WWI. They presented the barbarian and it looks pretty neat so far
