I used MMObay.com. It's pretty simple, you just register, put up an auciton (for a small fee), set the starting bid, a buy out and a potential hidden bottom (at an additional cost). The deal goes trough paypal, so the payments are secure and you can refuse to pay if you sense something fishy's going on.

As for the actual sale of the account, once mine was expired and some random won the bidround, I told him to contact me on MSN. We set the deal up and I set up a neutral password on the account, he sent the cash, I got the confirmation mail and then sent him all the details required (secret question/answer and such) and we fixed the email-change by him simply changing it and me giving him the confirmation mail-link over MSN.

An easy 350 Euro and a happy costumer.

Yea man. Be careful if you're trying to sell it.

For example, someone just contacted me in regards to my account from an ad on craigslist.
A few hours later I receive an email from "BlizzardAccntAdmin" saying that I have been chosen to test the WotLK beta. Now the email address I use for craigslist is an alternate address, which blizzard does not have. Why are they sending me emails there?

Do I click on the alleged WoTL link to get my beta key? Let the trojans/keyloggers in? :lol:

This one is fairly obvious but there are a lot more subtle ways they can fuck you on this. Which is why I am so careful who I am talking with. One more reason why I probably haven't sold it yet. :-/

Ah yes, the ol' "gimmie back my money"-scam. This works both ways, though, if you just remember to add one very vital sentence in the description of the auction: "You're only buying the time I've spent on this account as well as the supervision of it" or something of the sort. That way, if the payment is reverted you're in full position to call paypal and demand that the moneytransfer still goes trough. Actually, the transfer shouldn't be stopped in the first place as long as paypal actually checks up on the deal.

Worst case scenario: you simply get your account back by claiming that it was stolen from you (though this process usually takes one to four days to get trough). Keep your passport and a scanned copy of it ready, just in case.

Personally I think you always have to take a chance, however if you just keep your eyes open you won't get into any trouble.

since I'm swedish I use the swedish site called blocket.se ( where you can selll everything basiclly). And I don't trust paypal for just that reason of claiming the money back. I'm making them put in money on my real bankaccount wich works great since it's jsut sweeds on that website aswell. TAkes a day but 's secure as hell

Well...My rogue is a gnome and my warrior is an orc. Seems my friends are going hordies, so I guess I'm gonna stick with my warrior. Just need servers goigg now!
