Nice gear, to bad it doesn't mean much anymore.  I'm a level 68 hunter on Blade's Edge.  I recently transferred from Cenarius and was in a guild that clearled Nax as well.  What guild were you in?

Anyone here on Blade's Edge by any chance?  I know there were like 5 old servers that were overpopulated that had free transfers there so you never know.

anyone know i how i can reset the screen rez?

the game was fine last night, then i did tv out to watch Lost.  (put back to normal after)

I load the game this morning and it loaded as 800x600, i went into settings and I no longer have a 1440x900 option, the highest I have is 1600x1280 but it will only allow to set to 1280x1024

also has no drop down for refresh rate.

i cannot play at such a crap resolution.

any ideas?


edit: now works at 1600x1280 but still no sign of 1440x900 res and no refresh options showing

I gather no one has any idea how to resolve, spose Ill ask blizzard and wait a year for support   

presumably the tv-out has changed something, it must be detecting the tv still somehow and only offering resolution that the tv will support, mayve to reboot without tv plugged, reinstall drivers etc etc, bah!

try deleting the WTF / WDB folders in your WoW directory then restarting the game. Other than that, no idea...

Don't delete it! Edit it with notepad and set whatever res/refresh rate you need.

yeah i can do that, i can see the res it is set to.  also has no refresh rate available.

the point is it was fine until ran tv-out

i believe it has to do with the tv-out and is detecting the tv more than the pc, it maybe ok after a reboot with tv unplugged or if I can make the monitor be the default screen, at moment it thinks its display 2.

but dont want this hassle if i ever run tv-out, i will have to play around with settings etc etc



edit: unplugged tv-out cable and rebooted and 1440 option now appeared, plugged back in and rebooted and still fine.

some strange confliction issue

I am playing with cedega and when i go some outside the fps decreases to 9-11 but when i am somewhere inside the fps is about 80? Anyone else having the same problem, any linux players?

My RL mate got one a couple of weeks ago. By the time he got both his hunter and his rogue to 70 he had enough gold to buy an epic one for his hunter. Thats probably the best way to do it, imo.

Not all epics from Karazhan are good.
Some boots dropped and my blue Shattrath Jumpers was better than them
Also some shoulders dropped but i prefered my Frozen Shadoweave Shoulders.

280% move speed vs 60%/100%. And its only 5k gold, you prolly already know that you get like 10-20g per quest on 70, so it can take like 2 days to get a epic mount, and your prolly will have more qs over... And then theres always grinding. Getting epic flying mount helps you and your mates.

You move around in *all* outland much much faster. And calling it "selfish" to get a mount... :/ lol, just lol.

Epic mount is useless!
Why?

I rather use the fly NPC to go somewhere fast.
I rather get summoned from meeting stone.

All this aint worth 5k gold.

With these 5K gold i can help guild instead with raiding.

And what if you run out of questing, it will be harder to get gold.

Epic mount is only for showoff IMO, faster traveling in current state of WoW is not worth 5K.

Epic mount is worth it IF!! you farm alot.

If you farm air elementals in nagrand...
Herbs... Mines...

With an epic mount this will go 100x faster than with a normal noob mount.

In other words, for some... the epic mount is worth every single coin. For others... maybe not.

And if you get the extra mount speed you can farm the herbs for pots much faster so in the end you would get more pots, gems and gear for the same ammount of time spent.

For an example, if you are a miner you would basicly mine 4 times faster than with normal flying mount.
And if you would sell the ore you mine on AH to get gold for pots, the day you would have sold ore at the worth of 6.6k gold you would have spent the exact same ammount of time and gotten the exact same ammount of gold but the difference the person who got epic mount with the first 5.2k gold would in the future get 4 times more money than you.

So yes if you dont plan on playing for a long time and if you quest or grind for more than 5k gold get the epic mount. Just stupid not to get it.

Most stuff you see there are extra modules for a specific addon.

Also I mostly use Ac2 addons for performance etc. http://www.wowace.com

For example I use oRA2 instead of CT_Raid and BigWigs instead of CT_Raid Boss Mods.
