wtf are you talking about, i'm using pro as slang to say very good, i don't even play anymore. when i did play i was a top ~3% player worldwide for two seasons, i know what it took to get that good with multiple classes and im simply saying you cannot casually play and get that good, simple as.

@agent your played time on "that" account was a week with arena and 1-80, i doubt that, but that's not even the point. the point is all your other accounts added up have got to be ridiculous amounts of time played as were mine, hell even 7 days played for one character in a few months is considered casual now lol?

I'll admit to some PLing quite a bit, but that was almost mandatory back then.

Seven days played over two and a half/three months equal about two hours, three tops, a day, that's fairly casual for an MMO imo, especially considering the amount of time I spend alt-tabbed, or doing something else inbetween games while still being logged on.

Casuals I know tend to waste a LOT more time than that, just being logged in doing nothing really, so their /played rises despite them doing nothing, which is why I find /played a bad estimate of how much time you've actually spent on the game.

edit: Oh, and just in case I've been misunderstood here, I'm not trying to belittle the fact that you've been in the top tier. There's definitely a major difference between the mentality of the people who are in the top 3 % and those who aren't and they're usually willing to do the little extra required to get there (obviously). But I'd still dispute the amount of time you deem "required" to get to that level. It's still quite a bit of work, I'm just saying there's A LOT of dead weight in most people's time tables.

i don't see 2-3 hours a day as very casual, also considering the fact that your previous toons likely had way more time played which has allowed you and myself to already be good at what ever this game throws at us cannot be deemed casual. the last game i beat was halo: reach, that took me 2 weeks to finish, i would consider that casual play. i only mentioned the top 3% as to better describe my meaning of "pro" and to state that when i was there it took a lot of time to stay there unless you were lucky enough to get a really good FOTM, like say s5 dk etc, that shit was a joke.

this game takes a lot of time to be really good, you either already put in oodles of time so you can play a little less now, you play a shit load now, or you buy your way to the top... 2-3 hours a day is a lot of time on a video game and i would bet most people spend way more than 2-3 hours a day on wow if they consider themselves good especially if you average out their /played.

@Slacker, that's 2+ hours a day on average, not actually played per day. Most of the bulky 4-6 hour sessions were spent getting PL'd (aka me on /follow on one of my buddies). Forgot to point this out.

I'm not saying you could play with a "casual" mentality and be "pro", I'm saying you could effectively "play casually" and be part of the "pro scene", as I still don't quite agree with your estimate of how much time you actually have to spend to stay there.

I was in a "pro" guild and we only raided 3 days a week, rest of the days barely anyone played, except to stock up on mats a bit.

It hasn't been geeking like it was in vanilla, when guilds like Nihilum spent the whole day from 5pm to 5 am just raiding and wiping to learn tactics. That is long in the past now. <.<

I guess I am what you would call a "casual"?
I haven't logged on in since Dec. 1st and when I do I usually just do a few quests or run some heroics.
I think i'd probably play more if i felt like I was wasting money every month by not logging on for weeks at a time but I am still on about 8 months free account time so I don't bother.

Slacked my way to 85 today and noticed a few eastern eggs in Uldum and thought I'd share incase someone has missed them.

And by the amount of wiping there was in some normal instances today with random idiots I'm not looking forward to heroics.
Seems like wotlk facerolling made everyone lose any kind of common sense in dungeons, I think I'll have to get me a guild so I can stay away from random spastics

Haha yea, heroics is a bitch.
I only go there as DPS since i'm not nearly geared enough for heroic healing even though i meet the item level requirement.

Dinged 85 today, 125k Protadin!
Done 2 heroics sofar: Throne of Tides and Deadmines, both were pretty hard and we've wiped some but its still good fun!

Here basically cata instances for you:
Healer: SPAM URSELF TO OOM
DPS: Dont stand in stuff that doesnt look friendly
Tank: Prepare to tank atleast 4-5 mobs at once in each pull!

Lol I see ez mode heroics spoiled lots of you. Finally dungeons are hard again, but that will change in 1-2 months with the better gear from raids and skill will be once again forgotten.

It's hard now because healers are lacking spirit, dps's are cheating the iLevel system and tanks aren't getting proper gear.

I'm all for the difficulty it is at now (it requires CC), but as is, I just don't see me doing a single HC for atleast a month.

Although, maybe you guys can answer me this? I've played wow on my laptop so far, on low ect, dosnt matter for me, but seeing they updated the graphics, you reckon I can play on this machine still:

intel 2 core duo @ 2,26ghz
3gb ram
256mb graphic memory dedicated

For me it runs smoother than before at around 30-60fps, I have everything on max except water and shadows, got a 3 year old intel core 2 duo @ 2,40ghz, 4gb ram, Ati Radeon HD 2900 XT @ 1920 x 1080
So I guess you'd be fine?

Lack of DPS prolongs the fight ->healer goes oom -> tank dies -> wipe.
It does matter just as much as the healers and tanks gear matter.

Just brought down Argaloth with my guild, it was awesome.
A bit hard for the healers since everyone was seriously undergeared for the fight, but it made it all the more sweet when he went down after 2 hours and just entered berserker rage.
