And so I've been hacked -- Again.

God damn piece of shit battle.net is to blame. I'll always stand for that. Ever since I merged, I've been getting phish mails in fucking ludicrous amounts, and now I'm hacked -- Again.

One of my guildmembers said that it was because of a security fault in the official WoW Launcher. Stupid piece of shit company.

Oh well - Authenticator, here I come.

Note: WoWhead is the fishiest (and only for that matter) MMO-RPG related site I've been too lately. So I seriously doubt that I've picked up any keyloggers.

You know, being hacked isn't because of battle.net. It's because of the user, always, not taking the proper precautions.
The biggest one is, get an email ONLY for your battle.net account and never ever use it anywhere else. Also, get a spyware scanner or something, you never get hacked you get trojans and keyloggers.
I have never heard of a security fault in the launcher and even so it doesn't matter, you don't login with the launcher.

Anyways, always have the authenticator and change the email to something you never use anywhere outside Battle.net.

Sure it is. Wowhead is the worst phishing site nowadays, and in the 7 days I've played on my account after the three month break I took, I've been onto every goldselling site there is.

Really, you're blaming WoWhead?
The nr 1 World of Warcraft Database at the moment? i'm there regularly and i never get any phising emails to my Battle.net Email.
You should blame yourself really, if you use your battle.net email account as your public email account you really are inviting trouble and phishing emails. Besides, they can't even do anything unless you click the links and logon the site provided in those emails.

It's funny how it seems you're the only with problems.

Well, i have no idea, you didn't use any smilies or whatever, so i have no idea if you were sarcastic or not, i don't even know if you are now.

Well, you can now rest assure knowing that I was sarcastic. I guess I was sort of at fault, but that's the world of texting. Emotionless.

Anyways - I've got my shit back already.

Honestly don't know what to say about that. Best fanfiction I've ever read. It's a paper and pen RPG someone did in the WoW world. Should be read even though you don't play WoW, it's that good, you will laugh A LOT!

Atleast read the first three pages before you go nuts on it.

Best thing is In Cataclysm there's a hunter and his pet patrolling near Razor Hill with the same names, it's wicked

I'm guessing he wrote this for the fan fiction competition and won something and Blizzard decided to put his character in the game.

When i started using WoWHead i made a separate email account JUST for using that site incase somehow i got hacked or whatever.  Just me being paranoid after i know people who have been hacked.
That same email address that i ONLY use for WoWHead is getting phishing emails.  that tells me they likely sold their email account list.

Remember thotbot?  That used to be one of the largest WoW Database websites and it was bought out or whatever and was full of keylogger ads ect.

2 weeks ago, a buddy of mine was hacked. They told him to avoid thotbot, alakazam and wowhead due to phishing adds, keyloggers, ect.  that was from a Blizzard employee..

I have since removed my account, and im still getting phishing emails...

Nopes, it was a forum game on uldumans server forum. Blizzard liked it apparently and just added a hunter and a cat with the same name =)

With Cataclysm Blizzard is going to make forums post the full name you used for your battle-net account on the forums.

No more anonymity.

I think it's voluntary

Edit: or maybe not:

Quote:

How will Real ID be integrated with the official forums?
Beginning in mid-July, players who post on official Blizzard forums will be doing so using their Real ID -- that is, the real-life first and last name associated with their Battle.net account. In addition, players also will have the option to display the name of their primary in-game character (plus related in-game information such as guild and realm) alongside their real name. You’ll also begin seeing blue posters (i.e. Blizzard employees) posting by their real first and last names on our forums as well.

These changes will go into effect on all StarCraft II forums with the launch of the new community site prior to the July 27 release of the game, with the World of Warcraft site and forums following suit near the launch of Cataclysm. Certain classic forums, including the classic Battle.net forums, will remain unchanged.

That is, if you created the account with a fake name from the start. Otherwise you can't.

You sure you can't switch? I remember it being an option back before battlenet atleast.
