Based on feedback we’ve been provided by players, we’d like to make you aware of a couple of changes we are applying to Icecrown Citadel: The Frozen Halls via in-game fixes. Firstly, we are increasing the drop rate of the Battered Hilt in all three wings of this Heroic five-player dungeon. We have seen a great deal of discussion about this item’s chance of dropping since the release of patch 3.3.0 and agree that it is currently too low. As a result, players should find greater accessibility to this item while running these dungeons, or while trading with other players who have it.

In light of this change, we are also removing the chance for the Battered Hilt or any other epic item to drop from the Skeletal Slaves in the Pit of Saron. The need to “farm” these creatures for the Battered Hilt should be reduced by our first in-game fix and will no longer result in a chance for epic loot or Battered Hilts.

So you can stop your skeleton farming now lads

Finally! All the stupid italians from crushridge who wanna farm for it instead of doing the whole dungeon is so annoying.

Haha, I know exactly what you mean. I barely touch the LFG tool anymore due to fear of being grouped up with people from crushridge.

Had an annoying tank on Cyclone today
This was from my 73 druid, basically the tank ques, we get the confirmation and cancels, and continues to do that for 5 mins until I gave up on a group lol

I farmed a few hundred badges using pugs, only one failed. No failures in Oculus.

this game will only waist your life away,
i played it for over 2 years then gave my account away to some guy i just met in game,
hole game has lost its way nonestop patching creating obsolite areas such as shatt, and the irle,
you farm the raids for mths to get your gear to find out its all going to become obsolite and you have to start all over again,
world of warcraft needs a masive patch to delete half its obsolite contents,
i feel nothing but regret when i think about how many hours i waisted playing this game.

this is one of them i gave away
http://eu.wowarmory.com/character-sheet … 3%A1gnarok

if you have any sence you will drop this game

tbh to say that this game throws your life away just shows a bad self controll. it's not the games fault it controlls you, it's your own. You don't need the BEST gear, it's all in your head. Although if you want to stay competetiv in high end guilds then sure, you need to saccrifise some time.

I've been playing mmos for over a decade now, but i've yet to "throw my life away". It's like any other thing concerning self control.

Can't wait for the next expansion, probably going to start playing retail again (Worgen Druid <3 ) should be fun to grind out levels in flooded Azeroth, like playing a whole new game!
Haven't played retail in 3+ years though.

Anyone know if there's a purpose for the Human form of Worgens?

Yep, if Blizz put up a WoW classic server (Stopped at patch 1.12.1 or so) and just LEFT IT ALONE, I would play there in a heart beat.  I quit playing retail when TBC came out, didn't like the idea of having to farm all new gear, and levels.

I'm going with Chill on this one.  If you cant control your game time in game and "waist your life away".  that's your own fault.
Ive been playing MMOPGs now for about 10 years on and off..  The guild i am in now is a raiding guild..  If i can make the scheduled raids, good, if not..  Good.  We recently had a few members complain about people missing raids with little or no notice.  These were the ones always in game..  you log in at anytime during the day and they are on.  i was one of the people they were pissed at.  Im one of the main tanks(bear FTW).  The past month ive made 1 raid out of 3 scheduled.  Life and family stuff happened and i wasnt around to give notice or give them a heads up..  A tank..  In a guild with over 40 members and several tanks.

RL trumps game.  its fun, great to play on my down time.  Even better when its shit outside.

As for the endless quest to obtain the best gear..  ill admit in TOC i was trying for the better gear.  after about 3 raids i realized how long it would take to actually reach that point..  and havent bothered trying..  No chance in hell i will EVER be top geared in raiding or pvp.. i will settle for good gear and fun times.

The game changing to not be so gear driven..  Not likely going to happen..  Playing to the masses.. new content = new users and usually  old users coming back to experience it.  They might not stick around for months in the long run.. but they will have paid their $40 for the game and there $15 per month(canadian prices here folks) so blizzard still gets their money..

It happened in UO(remember those days?) and its happening in WoW and it will likely happen in Aion(for those who play, i dont).

Enjoy it on your own levels!  It's a game..  i still enjoy it..  ive quit it twice for over several months, but its still a great time killer especially when you dont have a good book.

my 2 cents..

played the game for about 2 years now, made 5 lvl 80's so you could say i played it alot , im not saying that its the game thats doing the life fucking up, its the person who enjoyes the game tomuch and keeps playing. Im glad i made the step to quit this game, for me it rly was a fun time but it was just tomuch. No other game could draw me to the pc asmuch as WoW did. It basicly turned me into a slacker as i rather played the game then do more usefull things. Blizard made an awesome package, that can be very adictive to certain people.Saying its the fault of the person that he/she has no willpower is to easy imo. Everything in the game pulls you in, u wanne get better, and u make friends, when u build up a guild u gain responcebuilties what keep u online. Ofc there is always the part where you can say, its just a game but i also understand it when people say it changed theyre lifes in a negative way. Just keep focused on whats important in life. Wow isnt that thing

Ok thats basicly my opinion. do what u want with it ;p

cheers

I just read the Penny Arcade comics about WoW, and I can feel the urge to play again. :-|

Maybe I should actually play my Mage end-game. I dinged 80 and then quit.

every once and a while i think about the good times in arena or wrecking dudes in world pvp and think it'd be fun to play again with my old crew. then i realize i don't have the time anymore and they totally broke the game with wotlk and i'm glad they did.

WoW: the one and only game that I've loved and loathed.

Another oldschool series is otherguy's sorrow hill http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=swGYXua3gKU (part one here from sorrow hill 1) Just god damn fantastic game play back in the old days where players didn't carry around 20k hp and a load of epics! My best pvp memories is from here!

I loved it, it was also pretty balanced because every class could kill each other.
One shotting everything as enha shamans with ragnaros hammer was hilarious. windfury <3.

Another mage i loved was Vurtne, when he keeps camping those 5 noobs in tyr's hand. hehe

yep the good ole days, pre-bc i wasn't more than a decent player but in s2 and s3 of tbc i became a wow god.  it helped that i had oodles of time to play in college and i had a couple other solid and dedicated guys to play with but none the less.

youtube deleted a lot of my old vids and muted a handful as well as they all got flagged for copyright shit... i still have copies of some arena matches on my pc as well as my old bros having a ton.  youtube left this video though which isn't the best for action but these numbers to this day amaze me.  man this game was fun as shit back in the day...

best gaming experience i've ever had.

It was, it was indeed. But it most likely also has something to do with growing older i think, it can't ONLY be because they released 1 halfdecent expansion and then a completely worthless one after that. I played for a few months in Wotlk and found that the only reason i was playing was because i was anxious cause of all the dailies and weeklies and shitties and bullshit. If you missed to do one daily, you just had to wait 1 more day before you could get your item.
That's the most addictive way to make a game, and there should probably be some kind of law to forbid game designers to make a game that way

I used to play a mage back in "vanilla", always went to Crossroads to gank a bit before raids, a few horde 80s would show up and i'd fight them. It was great, i must say it was my best gaming experience too. Also, it was great how it meant something to keep items from leveling 1-60, cause you always had use for it. Now you just throw everything away when you ding 60, abandon all quest, level through Outlands that nowadays is completely useless and abandoned, then you do the same at 70.

I quit the game a few months ago though, and i haven't had any desire to start playing again, that would only be if they opened up pre-tbc servers..

Slacker4life:

Dude you have the best avatar!  lol

So i think i have been playing for about a year now in game.  I took a nice long break from it over a summer but being in the winter, it's been fun to get back in game..
Not much has really changed..  Same shit, different locations.  New guild.  Had a nice arena team going until the season ended..  So now its just running ICC when i get bored and feel like playing..
So far we are stuck on princes..  The other tank in guild keeps dropping.. Shit happens i guess..

Getting bored again though...  Right now i tank on my Druid for the guild and i have another 80 warlock(my first character) which i dont play too much on at this time..  And because my guild only has 3 geared tanks, i cant use the warlock that often...  I miss him..  *tear*

Anyone managed to clear ICC yet
