Why?
The logo is a logo for a reason. Changing it would change the identity of the site.
You don't see Nike or McDonalds ditching theirs do you?
My thoughts exactly.

Why NOT???
If someone can make something better, then why be afraid to give it a shot?
DJCrazyChris: Multi-billion dollar companies don't make expensive changes unless it benefits them $$$$.
And there are tonnes of companies that go through logo changes etc...
TBY isn't a profit organization (last time I checked?), so there is no risk of $$$ losing here.
This would be something great for the community, so why not?
And in the end, if nobody creates anything better than the original, then the original stays. Whats the big deal?

Without the zipper it would be perfect.

Could do, but I wouldn't enter..
A change is as good as a holiday.
Woot a decent poll

I really like the logo that's allready there and it reminds me everyday of where we all came from Torrenbits!(sweet times), but I wouldn't mind maybe a temporary logo like over christmas.
But like some guys said, the logo is kinda the identity of the site. So if it stays the way it is. It's all good

This was not my first choice last time I voted, and it will not be again.
Let me give you an analogy. Everyone was born to a mother and father. After your first year of life do you abandon your parents? You are and always will be the creation of your parents. If not for TB, TB2 would never exist. Simple as that, it's a nice way of saying "thanks" and it's simply in honor of a great site.
I'm not saying that TorrentyBytes (TB2) is not a great site by itself but that logo is the very history of TorrentBytes.
There comes a time when that child leaves her/his parents and starts his/her own life, that is natural. That still does not mean that parents are not in his/her thoughts, they are, but he/she has own life to live.
We are not TB2, we are Torrentbytes a strong and independent community, not a second coming of TB, even many of our users have history in TB. The memories stay and we cherish them carefully, but why live in the past when the future can offer so much?
Um yeah....
Because the site layout and site rules show how different this site is from the old TB.
Sorry guys, and gals. This site is TB2. Hell it even had that URL in the beginning if I remember. You can change all the visual aspects you want, this site will ALWAYS be TB2.
From the current users who were ushered here after TBit's demise, to the current look of the site, to the rules that you guys have, to the mood that the forums present themselves in, hell, even the staff, great staff that they are, are all reminisent of TBits....so to me, trying to make yourself "not TorrentBits' child" is like pissing into the wind.
Sure you can't live in the past, but you also can't ignore the present, and that's what this site is. It is the spawned child from the death of TorrentBits, everyone knows that, and changing the logo or anything will not change that fact to the people who have been around longer then 40 weeks.
If you think the logo blows then go ahead and change it, but if you want to change it because you're trying to become something you're not, then it's a waste of time...
Thoughts?

Agreed, Torrentbytes.net is strong enough to stand on its own feets. TB is in our thoughts, but now the time is for Torrentbytes.net a proud and independent community, not a shadow of TB.
Is this what it's all about? Torrentbytes will always be "in the shadow" of TB. It's history, it's roots come from TBits, you cannot change that with a new logo or a new name! It is a new site but still so many relics remain...why are we destroying them? Are we ashamed of our past?
Bah.. people just want a competition and change it every month, most don't care.

The members may of come from the demise of Tbits but it does not mean it is the 2nd Tbits. I look at other torrent sites and see members of staff on those sites that are members or mods at other sites.
These sites are not children of other sites but members thinking they can do a better job and have access to uploaders with alot of stuff.
I hope the change of logo will make people stop comparing it to a site that many members would not know off....

Removing the zipper could be ok I think...
I like the logo as it is now.
A logo for xmas and newyears would be really cool
The members may of come from the demise of Tbits but it does not mean it is the 2nd Tbits.
Do you even remember this site being born? That's exactly what it was born as...
Like I said, the staff here, the mood, the skin, the rules, it's all TBits. There's nothing wrong with that, it is what it is. You can't change it by dressing up, and giving it a pretty new look.
As said, if you think the logo sucks change it, but don't change it simply because you want to change the site into something that it's not.

You could make something like TBits used to have. For holidays.
I don't really care if the zipper goes or stays.
But i think you should have holiday themes.
I would just say that I'd be very dissapointed if you guys started thinking you don't care about TB. There have been a couple of changes (mostly to the tracker) but that's it. Yes, TorrentBytes is a great community but you know what? It's a TorrentBits community and changing that logo is just disgraceful.
I remember when TB shutdown, I thought it was all over. The biggest thing that brought a smile to my face about the new site was that it paid respect where the respect was due.
