The zipper is absolutely critical to the sites logo. Most of TorrentBytes.net members came over from TB and it's RIP to the site we all loved. When TB2 was created there was a lot of banding together and the logo competition was very sacred. The zipper served a very real purpose of showing that will still pay respect to those that made TB possible.
The zipper must stay and logo remain untouched. It's an absolute marvel.
"Sure, why not!"
I don't like the zipper, and I think it's time we set up our own identity in the logo.
Agreed, Torrentbytes.net is strong enough to stand on its own feets. TB is in our thoughts, but now the time is for Torrentbytes.net a proud and independent community, not a shadow of TB.

Let me give you an analogy. Everyone was born to a mother and father. After your first year of life do you abandon your parents? You are and always will be the creation of your parents. If not for TB, TB2 would never exist. Simple as that, it's a nice way of saying "thanks" and it's simply in honor of a great site.
I'm not saying that TorrentyBytes (TB2) is not a great site by itself but that logo is the very history of TorrentBytes.

There comes a time when that child leaves her/his parents and starts his/her own life, that is natural. That still does not mean that parents are not in his/her thoughts, they are, but he/she has own life to live.
We are not TB2, we are Torrentbytes a strong and independent community, not a second coming of TB, even many of our users have history in TB. The memories stay and we cherish them carefully, but why live in the past when the future can offer so much ?
That's not a new logo chucklesjh... It's a new color.
For all I care the site could be black and white. I'm here for the files, not for the (non-existent) design.
I know its not a new logo, I didn't mean for it to be either, I like the one without a zipper. I put in the Propose a Feature thread a long time ago that a gunmetal style sheet would be sweet, so all I did was change the color, like xosemp did.
