Did you play the dark prince yet? OK here we go: (may include spoilers for WW and SOT) In SOT the prince was tricked by the Vizier and unleashed the SOT. In that moment he was suppost to be killed by the Sands but he didnt die, and that caused a distrubtion in the timeline (I'll explain it later) He defeated the Vizier and so Impounded the sands of time. (At the end He rewinded the time back and prevented from his kingdom to be destroyed) In Warrior Within the prince figured out that an unstopable beast chases him (The Dahaka). The reason for it is that the prince was suppost to die and his fate was written- He will die. So the Dahaka came to "fix" the timeline and kill the prince (The Dahaka is the guardian of the Timeline). The prince, aided by the old man, decided to go back in time through the sand portals in The Island of time (and that is where the prince has returned from to babylon) and to change his fate. The prince traveled back in time in order to kill Kaileena the Creator of the sands for prevent the sands to be created and that will prevent him to open the sands in future (SOT). At the end of WW (it has 2 endings but The two thrones will continue the second ending) the Prince returns with his "love" kaileena to babylon and finds it ruined by unkown enemy. That happend because the prince dealed with the past and changed it. Ok, that all.
