So can we use Starforce nightmare instead of unplugging IDE?

doesnt seem too hard :hmmm:

Remove all IDE means to disable CD with StarForce Nightmare?

#469934 by unknown[46940] at 2005-12-03 06:09:52 (7 years ago) - [Report]Top

Oh sorry I thought those were general instructions for SFclones and not specific for this one.
My bad.
Btw when u say remove IDE drives do u mean physically unplug them or do u mean disable them in device manager, or something else?

i just copy and pasted from the nfo, and removed the serial of course. not sure if it can be done with SF nightmare, havent finished grabbing it yet.

#469936 by unknown[124633] at 2005-12-03 06:13:42 (7 years ago) - [Report]Top

I think you have to use StarForce Nightmare to do that because when I did it
The IDE's were disappeared

Just reading the TL comments and came across this

Quote:

-> Use Starforce Nightmare to Disable CD & Disable Node
-> Use Daemon tools 4 to Mount Image
-> Use supplied serial and enjoy ppl...

You need to unplug your CD drives. I know itssss soooo hard to do. It's SF 3.6 you HAVE to unplug. OHHHH I have to take 8 seconds to unplug my drive. OOOHH NO

And major ownage to anyone who bought it and complained about it not coming out. LMAO!

#469946 by unknown[6455] at 2005-12-03 06:49:06 (7 years ago) - [Report]Top

Well the game works just using DT4 and simply unplugging the CD drive. Game works straight up. No need to use Starfuck or SFCure.

All I can say is. The game looks sooo much nicer and cleaner then the PS2 version. Also the PS2 version runs at a crap 30Frames per second.

However PC version im getting over 80 FPS constant, with anti aliasing on 4x. Thats good news. After watching the PS2 version, I thought the PC version was going to have a limit of only 30 FPS aswell. Thank goodness it does not.

So far The game is sweet, and looks really good.

It depends on the person but what i do to get every starforce game to work is this.

Unplug my cd/dvd cables then i run sfcure you click install then run then start then sfnightmare and disable node then mount the image and play.

But some games have been really screwie every game only has some glitches or bugs.

Can't you just use SfNightmare to disable your CD?

So, unplugging the IDE cable on my CD/DVD drive will be enough?

#469992 by unknown[46940] at 2005-12-03 08:53:55 (7 years ago) - [Report]Top

@Shaamaan
It should be yes. I'm gonna try it and post my results as soon as I get it.

so the Starforce Nightmare won't work?

It might work for some ppl but others will have to physically unplug their drives. Its always been this way for all games with SF protection. This time i've decided to finally try unplugging my DVD drive and trying and I hope it'll work. Like I said before I'll post my results when I finish downloading it.

With SF 3.6, using SFN to disable your CD (and node) isn't enough.

With SF 3.5 and below, all you need to do is disable cd and disable node with SFN and the game will start but SFN's methods don't fool SF 3.6, it can still see your drives and the game won't start. So in order for a SF 3.6 protected game to work, you need to PHYSICALLY unplug your CD/DVD-drives.

I don't know why the game's so small but it hasn't been nuked yet so there's prolly nothing wrong with it. No its not hard to unplug u're DVD/CD drive just open the case of u're computer and unplug the cable connected u're DVD/CD drive. I don't know if its necessary, but I would still reccommend turning u're computer off before u do this, to aviod any risk of injury.

I have just unplugged my CDs but its oppressive to do it again and again if I will need my CD for something...
