ive read a few comments on how to make the upload speed better but nothing works for me, cant get the upload speed over ~300kb/s, and i always upload in ~1300kb/s in BitComet

anyone know some magical settings?

@Xall: with your settings it went from max ~99kb/s up to ~300kb/s up.. *success* but not more :blink:

I only use 250 and still I get ~800kb/s download speed and around 90kb/s upload speed (which is the max of my connection). No need for 512 unless you have a really fat pipe.

i can't really help the people with fat pipes...i only have about 95k max up and about 1200k down.

my settings in order from top to bottom in torrent options are 512, 512, 12. this gets me to max up in about 15 seconds and max down in about a minute.

Lots of new small updates today. Dunno what they did but its obviously improving. Anyway, i love the client, its just so clean and simple. Perfect.

just converted to this client today after BC been banned at many sites and so far have been impressed by it upload speeds lower than BC but still very good.

i spent some time looking around on the forums but couldn't find much of an answer. have the devs responded to the people complaining about bad ul/inconsistant speeds?

ok i need help with utorrent....after i updated to 1.3, i cant open torrents, like if i want to open a torrent from TB ....not download it...the torrent doesnt add itself to utorrent...thats really weird

even if i try to download the torrent and double click it...still nothing happenes....so i have to drag the downloaded torrent into utorrent THEN it works

plz help!!

Okey hope someone can help with my upload speed.
Ive got 10/10 and with these settings my download speed are like 800-1000kb/s which is good..
But my upload speed are never higher then 100kb/s while seeding in ľtorrent

And in BitComet i upload in 1300kb/s and download in 500-700kb/s
So how can i improve my upload speed in ľtorrent?

having DHT on in uT isn't an issue. it respects the private torrent code in every torrent file and turns off DHT for those torrents.

Switched over due to all the bad press about Bitcomet. Seems to work great! What are the best settings under torrents for a 9mb line?

Started using uTorrent 2 weeks ago (when I signed up here), I first used Azureus (also a great client), but uTorrent is better cause now I'm able to actually _use_ my PC when I download something...

uTorrent uses low CPU & only 6 mb of RAM, so _great_! =] I'm also finaly able to get full download/upload speed... I'm lovin' it =]

Have to recommend uTorrent. Just changed from BitComet to uTorrent and I'm again connectable. Didn't know why I wasn't when I was using BitComet.

uTorrent doesnt have the "bitcomet function" to download small part or some of the torrent parts.
And uTorrent keeps laging my computer and make it slow.

Anyone get the same?

it does have the function to download parts of a torrent. when you start the download, click on 'files'; a tab located along with 'general', 'pieces', etc. on there is a list of the files.

and to your other point...utorrent shouldnt cause your pc to lag because its alot lighter than for example bitcomet

@damionp....the best settings are the default ones as far as i can tell

you can download only one file of the torrent if you want to with utorrent if that was what you ment..
how often did you set utorrent to refresh the gui.. 100 times per second is just too much

Its lighter then Bitcomet but when i download some torrents, utorrent freezes.
I had same problems with Bitcomet tho.

it used to lock up here all the time. uninstalled bitdefender and suddenly it worked perfectly. best client imho.

BitComet and ľTorrent has the same functions when it comes to download just a part of a torrent, you can choose only one file if you want to. No need to complain about that.

If ľTorrent is slow, try tricking around with the settings a bit, there's a lot of settings that affect the "laginess" of the program.

ľTorrent works fine now.
The problem was my firewall/antivirus program.

Great program, im switching from Bitcomet.

If you really have 10Mbit, increase max ul slots to ~50.
You basically dont ul to more than 6 ppl max.
