You need to try to download something, thats what connect on demand is -when you demand it will connect.

well it cost money...
why do i need to pay if i can download from torrentbytes free new and fast files? Oo
Depends on which groups really, I found some DVDRs were uploaded pretty quick yesterday. Thing I dont like is having to update headers
you dont have to if you goto sites like nzbzone or nzbrus where people will post the nzb files for basically everything

As i said in the other post xvids are the ones that are slow DVDR's come out pretty fast. Is there a way i can request a movie/music ect.. to be upped in the newsgroups?

You said "most movies, especially xvids", which also include DVDRs. I use a few nzbs from nzbsrus sometimes, but you have to wait for someone to actually upload them first, which can be pretty fast sometimes or slow in others. XLoser you can make a request by posting in the group, would be better if you upped a release though so its more likely to be filled. You can also request on nzbsrus, i know some people actually fill the requests there
Just use http://www.binsearch.info/, that way you dont have to update headers. Just search for the scene name and it's easy to find. Or use nzb-zone, the posters there are pretty quick.
Is it how safe to download illegal stuff from these newsgroups? I just checked the newsgroups thru the server my ISP provides, and I could't find anything else there than games, movies and stuff like that, and started to think that it seems even too easy to just leech everything there. I even maxed out my 8 Mbit connection all the time.

actually NG is safer..b/c no-one has ever been sued by the riaa or mpaa for using NG..
well not yet anyway
i think there are a few dozen of bittorent sites and users been sued already by the riaa and mpaa..
It's just one local Finnish ISP, you don't propably know it. Seems to me that a high speed connection is required to use these newsgroups, cause I just downloaded some libraries and they were up to 300 MB in size.
Just started to wonder, that how is it possible that people can always max out their connection with these news servers? Is there just so amazing amount of bandwidth in these news servers, or how does it work?

my payserver company has several 10 Gbit/s uplinks, so yeah, they just have an amazing amount of bandwidth available
