Well you are just doing a wildcard search, try searching for an image with a name instead. And why can't  you just accept that they are not indexing everything?

Like james said most isp's have a newsserver but the retention rate (days the file is stored) sucks. I have bellsouth dsl and theirs is actually concidered great because its 7 days, but I still pay $15 for newshosting. Sure you can look at it like paying to dowload, but in my case I dl about 100+gigs a month off newsgroups and that wouldnt be anywhere near possible using torrents with my max upload speed capped at 30Kbs.

Ehm, I am using Newzbin and NZB-O-Matic to download stuff..

But when i try to extract the files i have downloaded i often get errors that some files are corrupt..
I heard there was a program that would fix the errors .. ANyone know of it?

#462117 by qbert95 (Power User) at 2005-11-24 15:50:38 (7 years ago) - [Report]Top

Its called QuickPar.  Install it and double click on the .par2 file and it will check for errors. If there are any it will use the .par files that came with the release to correct it.

Atm i am using NZB-O-Matic to download the stuff, but it all end sup in the same folder wich is kinda annoying. So i have to filter through 500 rar files to find the movie i downloaded.. is there any other program that will download the stuff into named folders instead of putting all in the same?

#462899 by EuryDonor (User) at 2005-11-26 14:53:27 (7 years ago) - [Report]Top

newsleecher will download them into a sub folder named after the group you got them from.

@ Eury what he didnt say was if they were good or not...i havent tried them so if any1 has used those Free newsservers can you let me know please.

#463146 by unknown[46940] at 2005-11-26 19:33:42 (7 years ago) - [Report]Top

Free newsserver are usually not very good at all.
Speeds usually suck and they have very low retention policies which result in incomplete downloads.
To really get the full potential of newsgroups u should pay for a newsserver such as newshosting.com or giganews.com
:-)

#463154 by PhAtS1 (User) at 2005-11-26 19:40:36 (7 years ago) - [Report]Top

Yeah i just realised that lol i tried a few of those free newsservers and the highest speed i could get was 10kb/s...any1 know if BT provide a newsserver???

#463172 by unknown[116451] at 2005-11-26 19:50:28 (7 years ago) - [Report]Top
