More like who WOULDN'T want a clone? With clones, you can patch the game as soon as a patch comes out. With cracked versions, you have to wait (god knows how long) for a cracked exe.

And also if you haven't noticed, cracked versions are a rare thing to see nowadays.

I like clones but I hate them when I have to hide drives and do other stupid things to play them. I see myself buying more games now since these types of releases been popping up more lately.

Could you remove that comment pls? Imagine some employee from ubisoft reading it.. that will encourage them to keep investing in copy protection

Clones > *other releases.

Cracked games used to be the best as they'd be cracked quickly, these days it can take weeks, or like ToCA, a year.

Well yes, some of the big games have been cracked (Myst V, CoD2, FEAR), but there's a whole lot of big games that haven't been cracked (Civ4, Vietcong 2, SW:BF2, X3 just to name a few) and some of them don't even have tough protections (Civ4 -> SD4).

Yes, patches sometimes aren't THAT important, but what if a game has a bug that stops you from continuing the game or even from starting it up? Then a patch comes out that fixes that bug. People with clones can just install the patch and play, everyone else with cracked versions need to sit and wait days, maybe even weeks to get a cracked update. That's something to think about.
