This is because unfortunately we no longer have any uploaders dedicated to Anime, and so far we haven't had any new applications from any potential new uploader(s).

Hopefully you'll find somebody :-)

What would you guys said if you compare the manga against the anime? Atleast i like the Anime more then the manga, sure the manga has its good parts and details but Death Note as anime is pure ownage and the animation is a masterpice. imo

I like the Anime better too, though the manga does, as you say, have it's good points.

Neon Genesis Evangelion
Neon Genesis Evangelion is widely acclaimed as the best anime ever, but it is unfortunately not very well-known. I hope as many of you will watch it, it will change your lives. I wouldn't have writed this post, if I didn't know what masterpiece Neon Genesis Evangelion is. Please read the post, at least the quotes. You will not regret it.

It simply is amazing! I cannot describe how great it is with my quite poor English. The series will fill you with thoughts, joy, hope, fear and wonder. It made me think really deep about life, and I think it made me a better person.

Some years ago, I gave all LOTR-movies a 10/10 on IMDB. I regret that now. While LOTR is okay, it cannot compare to any part of Neon Genesis Evangelion.

While it may look like a ordinary anime in the first few episodes, it develops heavenly and you will fall deeper and deeper in love with the series  as you watch.

Neon Genesis Evangelion is only 26 episodes(at 20min each) and a movie, so you can actually finish it. And if you starts, there is no way of quitting until the end(which is amazing).

Since I feel that I haven't managed to explain how amazing NGE is, here are some quotes from IMDB-usercomments:

Quote:

Whether you enjoy the world of anime or not this is an experience you must have before you die. Nothing else in the world is like it. For the sake of your personal experience I cannot tell you much about it and here's why. The first 20 some episodes you are immersed in the semi-futuristic world of Tokyo 3 and the characters are developed beautifully, some of the best character development I've ever witnessed. You get a very very good feel for the world and the situation they live in, only to have that blown away in the final episodes. Please for the sake of yourself watch this, from the start, you will not regret it.

Hideaki Anno has conceived of a story more important to my life than any other.

Hideaki Anno is pure genius.

Quote:

Without a doubt the best anime TV show ever and perhaps one of mankind's greatest achievements. The show, for 26 episodes, follows 14 year old Shinji Ikari as he's called to Tokyo-3 by his father and ordered to pilot a giant biomechanical monster called an Evangelion to combat these strange alien-like creatures called Angels. However, neither Shinji nor the audience has any idea of what's to come or the true reason for the existence of the Evas. And that is where the show's genius lies. As the show proceeds, we are only given small hints of the truth behind the mystery, small pieces of the puzzle and Anno leaves it up to us to put them all together.

Quote:

What can I say about the most perfect anime ever created? What can I say about Shinji, the most complex character ever created?

Evangelion begins like an action sci-fi anime, like Akira. It has everything: humor, drama, action, great soundtrack. Great fun! But then you watch episode 24... and WOW!

The 3 last episodes are the most perfect writen anime episodes ever. Yeah, some people don't understand it. Some people don't like it. But that's because those 3 episodes are about 1000 years ahead of our time. For the very first time you get inside a character's mind, you understand his problems and his fears. Yeah it's disturbing some times, but isn't real life disturbing?

It doesn't matter if you like animes or not, WATCH THIS! But watch from the beginning, or else you will not recieve the final message from episode 26. I'm sure that you will love Evangelion!

Quote:

See this or die without having lived

Quote:

I admire Stanley Kubrick's sci-fi "2001-a space odyssey", but compared to Hideaki Anno's anime "Shin Seiki Evangelion" that movie is just a child's play. Because this anime is, and I can say this it without any exaggeration, a masterpiece. Although, when I watched the first episodes, I thought I was going to give "Evangelion" only a 6/10. But the more I saw, the more I was astonished. And that was very clever from Anno who lured audience into this anime by making at the beginning a sci-fi action comedy, but then slowly turning it into an existential drama. The first 10 episodes were quite funny; we learned how Shinji was ashamed when Misato picked him up in her car wearing a seductive skirt. Then, after she heard that he must stay alone in some sort of a motel, she talked him into staying at her place ( she is so sweet ). Sharing an apartment with her made Shinji even more embarrassed when he saw a dozen of her bra's in the bathroom. And when he meet a penguin called Pen-Pen he run out of the bathroom naked ( an amusing scene in which his intimate part is cowered by a can of Misato's beer ).

"Evangelion" didn't win any Oscars or Golden Globes just because it was an anime. But it won something more important, the award of time, making it an anime that will never become outdated.

Grade: 10/10

Another reason for watching the series, is that there will be released a lot of Evangelion-movies in the coming years. 3 animated movies and one live action-movie created by the guys behind LOTR, WETA-workshop.

There is a perfect rip out of the entire series + movie on BitTorrent. It is a matroska-file with h.264-video ripped from DVD and both Japanese 5.1 sound and English 2.0 sound. It has English and German subtitles. AND 13913 seeders

@kris33
thanks for this info, though u seem like the one who wrote the anime and pissed off cuz no one knows it

no need for the large font twice in ur post and quoted user comments, that's too much advertising imo.

Oh right, recently catched the sight of this comment.. so when do ya'll think it will be sorted out? -still doesn't seem like dattebayo's homepage has any new naruto episode either.. so I dunno if you're in a hurry, but would be nice to download from good ol' TB again! So, one question.. is Lysin still uploadin'?

Gosh, that post with all the large text and quotes is annoying as hell. eva is overrated anyway. Personally, I think that it's the most pretentious anime ever created, and that they threw in large amounts of philosophical and religious symbolism just so that the viewers could feel more clever than they actually are. That said, it did have a good ending. So if you like a large dose of existentialism with your anime, then eva is for you.

Also, your post contained the stupidest comment ever: "I admire Stanley Kubrick's sci-fi "2001-a space odyssey", but compared to Hideaki Anno's anime "Shin Seiki Evangelion" that movie is just a child's play."

I couldn't imagine even someone who loves anime and hates all kinds of live action movies, especially sci-fi actually believing that comment.

Also, to lithiumhawk, check out anidb.info for anime release dates. ep8 of naruto doesnt come out (raw) for another 2 days

No one likes large and bold fonts....

anyway, has anyone seen Seirei no Moribito or Darker than Black (Kuro no Keiyakusha) yet? They might be promising. Does anyone know a good subgroup for the later of them?

Btw, anyone here watching Tokyo Majin Gakuen Kenpuchou?

Actually Evangelion is "godlike". You only had to watch when it went out in '95.  Too many animes copied too much of it through these years.

It's like Saving Private Ryan...when it came out everyone was like :omg: and it was really a OMG movie imho. But now lots of films during the last years copied something of it, so it kinda feels not so good if watched now. It's always like this when a game/movie/book/anime is so good to set a new standard.

#805685 by WaylanderDonor (Power User) at 2007-04-10 20:28:52 (6 years ago) - [Quote] - [Report]Top

Well, it was actually one of the first animes I watched and back then it was godlike for me as well, but now when my horizons have been broadened with other, better series, I do not hold it in the same high regard.

Too bad that noone is uploading anime here at the moment, I have no idea of what new animes with historical or horror themes there are to watch. Any recommendations? And anything that's in the vein of Mushishi, though I don't think there is something near it. =/
