Heh, I never thought the Anime people here would be so damn harsh after all the hard work. Guess it's time to let AJMouse take care of the Anime by himself again.

tbh im not just looking for a show to watch but to learn and understand somehting more about drawing complex perspectives and robots like those might come handy even if the show is utter crap :giggle:

So, anyone else than me following Kanon Remake?
Anwyay.. is it just me or is this series getting shitty. I loved it from the very first ep but ep9+10 made me feel otherwise.

Hello everyone, I just have a couple of questions regarding Anime. Firstly, let me start by saying that I have absolutely no clue about Anime (I only just vaguely know what it even is). The thing is you hear about it so much on the Internet and I would like to see what all the fuss is about. I found this site and it looks great but it seems that there are 1000's of shows, so I am just hoping that someone could please give me a little help on what show to start out with and the best place to download Anime. Thanks for any help :-)

well i thnk also you should throw a look on something popular like Bleach or Naruto for afew and see if you like it. Also Samurai Champloo is very nice try one of those and you might get hooked :lol:

Also most anime you can find on www.animesuki.com or www.isohunt.com or dc++ good luck and hopefully you like it

Personally I started out like this:

Helsing > Love Hina > Neon Genesis Evangeleon > lots more anime!
Weird start but i liked all 3 of them... even though NGE is pretty weird (the ending was awful btw.)
After that it escalated and now i cant keep track of all animes I've seen

What I'd recommend would be like this:

Samurai Champloo (It has all good elements that a anime should have, personally havn't seen more than 10 but those were great eps.)

Naruto, Bleach, One Piece are good series.
But naruto have been playing filler* episodes for over a year and bleach have just started a wave of fillers an One Piece has enough of them too but... if you skip them, like I have, you'll think much higher of the series.

My current favourite Anime has got to be Death Note, incredibly well done series and I can't wait too see the next episode.

If you like wierd anime there's loads where that came from... probably 50% of all anime is... strange (to put it mildly)...
A good bloody one is Elfen Lied.

If I were to give you my thoughts on all anime I've seen it would be many pages bc. the wast amount of different animes.

But my final suggestion would be this:

Samurai Champloo
Bleach
Naruto
...after that you're on your own

* filler episodes is episodes are the episodes not following the manga** and are often not as good as the "original story" episodes.
The filler episodes are mainly used in the way that they start between story arcs and are made so that the anime doesn't catch up with the manga, therefore they are called "filler" episodes.

** Manga is the written version (comic book). 99% of all animes are based on a manga.

I would reccomend Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion. It's a pretty interesting anime so far (10 subbed eps out). Not sure if it's a good "first time" anime though.

From episode 108:

Why do you think Kariya just left after the fight?
Will this be the end of the fillers? I think so but I liked the fillers more then the normal episodes.
