I've stocked up on a few Macross episodes:

Macross Zero
Macross Frontier
Macross 7
Macross Plus
The Super Dimension Fortress Macross

Any suggestions in what order to watch them?
I've started with Macross Zero, since it seems to be the prequel to SDF Macross, I've watched about halfway into the second episode of Macross Zero and I've no idea whats going on.

Claymore, is the closest imho to Berserk as in being dark fantasy with strong character progression, cold and depressing as it gets. With zero "funny anime faces" elements

It's progressing kinda slow from episode 8. I don't know how it will turn out from now on (episode 13) but I hope that it will pick up the pace.

Watched SAO, switched to the Light Novel- FUCKING LOVING IT. Shame the anime only covers volume 1-4

Novel is currently at volume 10 and stiill ongoing, volume 11 inc on dez. If you dont mind reading, grab it !

Looks like the fishman arc of OP should finally be over soon. I hope the pace and quality start to pick up again. It's a shame that the arc was so unimpressive, I don't really understand why they'd want to go down to this level just after the timeskip.

Stuff like

Luffy looking really awesome using Red Hawk for the first time in one episode, then having his move completely shrugged off in the next really put a downer on it for me.

It was the worst OP manga story arc for me and I can only imagine that the anime is even worse since they have to drag things. Anyway, it looks like you don't read the manga, so let me just tell you that imo it gets much better.

Hmmm... I think that the point of it being a slow arc was to help reboot the series after the time skip. Reading the manga from the beginning and the first real arc with all the Strawhats (Arlond Park Arc) is just as slow imo, but necessary to set the pace of the overall story. In this arc we get information of just about all the races over the last 20 years, more info on Whitebeard and his attachment to Fishman Island, we get info on one of the ancient weapons and some loose ends from other arcs are tied into this. Honestly, I think this is one of the better arcs. Not as good as the CP9 Saga (which is really 4 Arcs in one), not by a long shot, but still very good. We mustn't forget that the story and plot are equally important as the actual art that Eiichiro Oda creates. Also, this arc was to showcase everyone's new power levels and set the bar a little higher for them and us, the readers, when entering the New World over the Red Line.

I agree with everything but it doesn't change the fact that the villains were lame and forgettable which didn't make it a good read, well, at least for me.

Yea, I agree. Maybe even disliked it more than you. I think it was shit. I mean, compare it to the war chapter(don't know the name or if it was a chapter or not but I guess you know what I mean.) Even if I don't compare to the best parts of the series, it was overall really bad and really slow.
