So....Was that a no on Black Lagoon season 3 ever released?

@RotoR, I'd try out Claymore and the anime I am asking about, Black Lagoon.

Finished with Tokyo Magnitude 8 and loved it, the first anime that made me cry like a little girl. The last 3 episodes were really gut-wrenching and the last one was beautiful and sad in ways I had never seen in an anime show. Instant favorite

And it kind of fit in those day.

G.I. Joe Renegades is an interesting take on the franchise.  They basically A-Team'd it up.

Guys, Can you tell me some good fansub for one piece? Kaizoku has only sobbed until 297, and i'm almost there.

Wow they... literally did just that. The opening, the van... not too bad so far. Though Resolute was better if memory serves.

I'd go for Nakama-Fansubs anyday Really liked them. Ahhh those good old days when you had 100's of ep's to catch up and it seemed like it would always be that way forever... Hmm, maybe i'll drop One Piece for a while and start watching Bleach and Naruto it's always better when u have a batch to watch Ahh.. probably impossible One Piece is waaaay to good =(

Any other anime that is like Sword of the Stranger?

#1388926 by Snuffsis (Power User) at 2011-03-27 17:44:17 (2 years ago) - [Quote] - [Report]Top

Hmm, possibly Rurouni Kenshin, or Shura no Toki?

Not quite sure what you mean like, but those involve some kind of traveling samurais.

#1388939 by Sargoth (Power User) at 2011-03-27 18:23:28 (2 years ago) - [Quote] - [Report]Top

Yeah I was thinking same style of anime, blood, gore & setting doesn't have to traveling samurais though, I've seen both of those, except for the 95 episodes or so of the Rurouni Kenshin tv series .

#1388941 by Snuffsis (Power User) at 2011-03-27 18:28:52 (2 years ago) - [Quote] - [Report]Top

Well then, Berserk has lots of gore.
Gantz as well, except that is more modern/sci-fi.
Basilisk has quite a bit of gore as well afaik.
Ninja Scroll

You might want to watch Tenjou Tenge, nice artstyle, no censor, but it's more a modern martial arts school series.

Seen those as well, seems there is a new Berserk movie coming sometime this year?

There is this anime I don't remember the name of exactly that I would like to finish watching saw only one episode or so, I think it was even uploaded here on TB awhile back.

I'll try to describe what I remember, it takes place in modern time at first and is about a student whom is at a historial reenactment of ancient Japan with his class for some school history project they are doing. Only the main protagonist faints, and wakes up in ancient Japan and is amazed at the detail of the reenactment, unaware of what has happened thinking he is still there with his class and goes looking for his friends. Stuff happens, and he realises that he has the ability to see demons disguising themselves as humans. I think there was even a demon dog or something following him around helping him. Could be fuzzy about that last part.

Sounds like Amatsuki might be the anime you're looking for.

Seirei no Moribito has some of the best animated fight scenes I've seen and you should have a look at Shigurui if you liked Berserk. But be warned, Shigurui is a bit dark and gory. Gungrave is a great one too. Same template as Berserk
(brothers in arms end up as enemies)
different setting though with a bit of sci-fi and a hint of Hellsing.

Thanks, that appears to be the one I was looking for, will checkout the other suggested animes as well.
Which one should I start watching when it comes to Hellsing? I take it the tv series first then the OVA, or doesn't really matter?

The tv series and ova are quite different. OVAs are more based on the manga while the tv series breaks from the manga plot. Id reccomend watching the OVAs. They kickas
Specially when the nazis get in to the picture

Could anyone recommend me a good samurai anime (preferably realistic)? I've seen the ones with Ruroni Kenshin and Samurai Champloo already and I'm looking for something similar.

I'd recommend watching Stranger: Mukou Hadan It's not samurai but it's got swordfighting.
