Cowboy Bebop was entertaining, but did not leave any permanent impressions. It's because you think it's a mech series that you don't like it. Disregard the mechs and just think of it as any other action/drama serie, and you'll love it. Karas: One Piece is one of the best shows, especially the manga atm, there is a reason it's been one of the most popular mangas for 10 years now. As far as I can remember it contains mechs, ergo a mech series, of course that is my opinion. Most mech series (Gundam, etc) focuses heavily on the point of them having mechs in the show, whereas Gurren Lagann doesn't, much like Code Geass. I hope you get my point? Focus on the story instead of mechs, and the show will be more enjoyable, it was for me at least and i hate mech series usually. Another show you should see which i LOVE is Bokurano, it's also regarded as a mech series but it puts more focus on the characters development and how they take the fact that they're going to die, saving humanity from destruction. All i need to say to you is, you fail. If you think that is all there is to One Piece, you have missed a lot of the good stuff. The feelings Odacchi actually make you feel for the characters is just really insane. I know quite a lot of one piece fan that actually fell tears when Nami asked Luffy for help in saving their village from Arlong, or when he saves robin from Enies Lobby. Those are One Piece's real moments, where the show really shines and show what it goes for. And almost forgot, when Dr. Hiluluk blows himself up and tells Dalton that soon a beast will come up there, and then Chopper sees Dr. Hiluluk dead... so sad. Yeah, I think I follow you. I had more problems then just the mech part of Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagaan. The humor, the story and the combat was not something I found that engaging, thus I gave up watching the series about 5 episodes in. Except less hostile, lol Watched Berserk and OMG, i feel depressed, i knew it was gonna be tragic and all, but that was too much...some1 needs to be fired for not continuing with this series, guess i am gonna hve to read the manga. I dont think i've ever seen a more Sad, Tragic and in a way more real anime, The Grifith thing was awesome Also those saying Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann aint good, should really give it another try coz i am halfway thru and it really gets interesting from there.
