If I want to watch the ghost in the shell series in what order am I supposed to watch them?

If you'd spend 3 minutes on anidb you would know.

And seriously uberrig, you are bunshing naruto and lbeach together with hikaru no go and GiTS? rofl.

Actually yes, I am.
Why?
Naruto and Bleach have lead characters that 'power up' as the series goes on. Everytime they do battle with one opponent they find another stronger one after that etc etc. Same thing with Hikaru no Go imo.
GiTS is epically long and involved. Movies, tv series, tv movies, manga and novella's. All different from one another, yet all part of the GiTS world much like for Bleach and Naruto with their story arc fillers, movies unrelated to the story yet part 'n parcel of the character's ethos. So yes I do bunch them together when someone is looking for similar ideals.

Are Bleach, Naruto close to the same story line as Hikaru no Go and GiTS? Absolutely not. Yet as entertained as one is with Bleach and Naruto, one will find the same level of entertainment and length of enjoyment in GiTS, HnG, Kenshin, Hajime no Ippo and several others. One Piece comes to mind as well.

I really doubt it, Hikaru no Go focuses on the boardgame Go, it is not even close the same kind of entertainment as naruto or bleach.
Naruto or bleach is martial arts.
Hikaru no go is boardgame.
GiTS is complex and deep, where and Naruto and Bleach is average.
I'd say bunching these animes together is like saying that a car is the same as a bicycle, sure they're both transports but totally different anyway.

hehe, yes there are. The ones that have the 18+ mark don't have it because it's a kiddie pleaser.  Gits certainly is complex and not for kids thats for sure. Deep may be a bit streched, but complex suits it just fine.

Now i am comparing it to naruto and bleach.
But yes there are deep animés, Code Geass and Death note are two of them. they're deep as in complex.
Then there are emotional depth in certain animés.

Hope you know that "Naruto and Bleach have lead characters that 'power up' as the series goes on. Everytime they do battle with one opponent they find another stronger one after that etc etc."-scenario is the same in One Piece.

I like Bleach, One Piece and Naruto!

Hmm... Snuffsis, let me try one more time.

The reason people group DeathNote and Code Geass together (when one is plainly a psychological thriller and the other is a mecha) is because they both have the 'cliffhanger' ending and 'man vs. man' theme going through them.

Ok yes HnG is about a boardgame. Yes Bleach and Naruto are 'insert special move here' w/ martial arts or sword. However I see them as the same in that the lead characters (Ichigo and Hikaru) didn't really expect things to happen the way they did. Ichigo didn't expect to become, or even envision the idea of, a shinigami/soul reaper. Hikaru didn't know about the 'hand of God' or all the Igo tournaments, moves etc. However both were thrust into a world, took it upon themselves to do better, and each has to face stronger opponents to 'level up'.

Yes Bleach and Naruto and One Piece aren't likely to end anytime soon whereas Hikaru no Go stopped after 75 episodes. However I still think of them as the same in that the lead characters are powering up to achieve some uncertain goal. I include GiTS in this because where is the Major heading? What other things has she left to do?

That's why I'd bunch them altogether when clearly the packaging is somewhat different.
Gits = mecha/spy/police/special abilities
Geass = mecha/future/special abilities
DeathNote = thriller/psychological/special abilities
Bleach = etc/Naruto =/etc etc etc etc.

Anyways, that's why I'd suggest them altogether.

The 1st 2 gits movies are in "alternate universe" mode, theyre much darker than the tv series + movie based on the series (gitssac:sss) which are themselves more closely based on the manga. I like the tv series more especially the 2nd one.

Also, watch Ergo Proxy, Death Note, Evangelion, Escaflowne, Last Exile, Scrapped Princess, Lain, possibly even Gungrave (ignore the 1st ep) if you like complex anime.

Ghost in the Shell and Bleach aren't even targeting the same demographic, so it's very likely that people who watch GitS won't like Bleach and vice versa. Bleach was very gripping up till Chapter 170~ (and corresponding anime episode) Soul Society arc, but went downhill from there. I only read it out of habit. I enjoyed GitS for its political intrigue and action, although the anime does get bogged down with philosophical concepts or explanatory dialogue from time to time. Ergo Proxy seems almost too well written, very experimental, and had lots of references thrown in there. Like GitS, it could get pretty dense, requiring multiple watching to understand everything. Ergo Proxy started out strong but seemed to taper off a bit towards the end, but overall very good.

My other recommendations, if you don't mind "older" classics:
1) Wings of Honneamise (1987)
2) Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind (1984) (or anything Miyazaki)
3) Paranoia Agent (1994) (or anything directed/written by Satoshi Kon, usually psychological thrillers)
4) Grave of the Fireflies (1987)
5) Rurouni Kenshin: Trust and Betrayal (1999)
6) Akira (1988) (read it to get the most out of it)
7) Neon Genesis Evangelion (1995)
8) Otomo Katsuhiro's Memories (1995) (particularly Cannon Fodder)

All of the above are excellent thought-provoking works.

For pure eye candy, check out Makoto Shinkai's works (particularly Byousoku 5cm), xxxHolic's Manatsu no Yoru no Yume, and Gankutsuou.

Well, HD is usually released the day after, they release 420p first for obvious reasons (it's faster and people go crazy otherwise. )

I'd have to say that Season 2 of Darker Than Black is better then the first season.

I doubt that... Why I say so is because, they all start Pretty Good in the first episodes and .. then fall flat and the END.

edit: watched the first 2 episodes of fairy tail, and have to say its too soon to judge it but has great potential of becoming great
