Episode 1 of FMA was awesome, finally there is something good to watch besides waiting for one piece which takes about 7-10 days i guess this too will have all the character deaths and such the first one had...?

The first series is pretty spot on with the manga for alot of episodes. Major changes to Scar and some of the homonuculus though. The manga is alot better all in all.

To bad the first episode of the new FMA was a filler, it wasnt bad, but it sure doesn't bode well for the rest of the series if they're gonna put in stuff like that.

I didn't like the first episode at all. Too much everything and it didn't really go anywhere.

am i the only one that thinks dragon ball kai was a massive let down? there is little to no difference between it and the original. are they going to do a naruto and change the quality of it during fights or something?

no. They will do the first part of the manga, and the anime in next part.

So FMA 2 is an alternate story to the original FMA? I know FMA 1 follows the manga (i assumed all the way through originally) but at which point in the story of FMA 1 do the manga and anime separate? If you were to rewatch FMA 1 at which point does it change from the manga to just the anime story, meaning you'd watch up till episode XX then switch to FMA 2 for the full story

(i hope what i've written makes sense but i'm pretty tired)

The first half of the first anime's plot closely follows that of the manga, but diverges near the middle of the story; when the homunculus Greed has his underlings kidnap Alphonse.

Does that mean that the ending of FMA 1 was written by the Animators and not the creator of the manga?

Yes. The hysterically crappy ending was anime only. The manga has a better plot.

i think you are talking about ed's dad, he was shown in the previous anime too, lots of time...

yeah, i really hope for that too, but aint gonna happen they are pretty close to the manga, the new opening theme was awesome

if you wanna see whats gonna happen you might as well read the manga, the animation completely follow the manga

just watched 395th episode, next one's gonna be epic with silver rayleigh and all

haha omg, i didnt know Mayumi Tanaka (Luffy's voice actor) was also playing Krilin in dragonball xD i recognized that voice in the first few words he said.
