Anybody seen the new Hajime No Ippo yet? I think it just started airing, but I just hope it lives up to the first series.

hopefully it won't. I don't want to see matches that stretch on 3 or 4 episodes, i don't want a fixed format like the first one had (getting kicked all over right until the end when you pull some special move out your ass; every official match is won => so there's no excitement at all, because the outcome throughout the series is decided and known by all), maybe some sort of development outside boxing, perhaps similar to Major( drama in the family, characters grow from grade school to highschool, the setting changes ,different countries, etc.)

So many flaws in the first one, i don't even know what you guys are talking about, you make it seem like it was some kind of masterpiece

The thing that kept me interested in hajime no ippo was not if ippo would win or not, but how he would use his 'new skills'/development against an enemy.

It isn't about the result but it's about how he got to it.

I just visited crunchyroll to see what the price for watching naruto was. And i must say that this is going somewhere really good. Watched a 720p hd sample of the naruto intro and that was some wicked qualety. It's a fair deal considering that you get to see all the anime there for 6-7 bucks a month

it's not a continuous journey with a single goal, it's a fragmented one with many milestones. And every one of them is fixed. You're just favorably rationalizing a badly planned script, a rigid one. Even if the ultimate result is predictable, at least they could make it seem doubtful along the way. But the first one didn't even had that. Personally, i skipped every match after the first 2 or 3, right until the end of the fight, when i saw how scripted they are.

Hmmmm... That part is the actual the mainstory but it's progressing really slowly. I think the pace will increase in the next 2 weeks.
