Gilgamesh has a super dark horror atmosphere, and you have an apocalipthic sensation from every episode. And it's very sci-fi-ish. Texhnolize, hmm, you probably can't get more sci-fi than that. In the first episode the first 10 minutes there isn't a single dialogue and you probably won't hear more than 10 lines till the end of 1st ep. And as it's progresses it just gets more and more dramatic and misthic, and at the end don't expect to be happy and joyfull.  Make sure to use KAA if you'll get it. Another one that has a bit of resemblance might be Witch Hunter Robin, you might've seen it by now. As for similar for Ergo Proxy, well not similar but good ones. Noien, Darker than Black, The Third: Aoi Hitomi no Shoujo, Innocent Venus, Freedom. In my opinion, there isn't that many series that has that kinda complexity Ergo has. As for the other matter, download the first few eps, watch them and then decide is it for you. That's what I do. KAA's own tracker has Witch Hunter Robin and Texhnolize. Gilgamesh you can find at Anirena. cRaZy: Happy happy joy joy, good you learnt that dubs are evil. I really did enjoy downloading all the episodes of Naruto I was behind(a good 120+) and watching them back to back to back. I did the same with Bleach(although I never watched that one before). I really miss those days of catching up. In the anime you are shown the past, the old clan memebers and how the things get like this. In the movie you get nothing of this sort, just that they suddenly decide to fight. Ok ... In the anime you get the background of all the main caracters, their motives for fighting are shown, (revenge, protection, etc), in the movie nothing. And not to mention Gennousuke's ability is violently changed, like no connection with teh anime at all. Same with Oboro. Aside from the first battle which is rather convincing , the rest of the caracters die almost instantly, shalow as they are, without anyone developing them at all. And the ending has nothing to do with the anime. Like Wolcom said, the movie is anbout 1h 20' long, so nothing else than a $  making flick can be done. I think its a good movie - an enjoyable 1h and 20 minuts' . And ofcourse they can't show all that , when its a movie on 1h & 20 min.
