Whenever I use it it seems to throw up hundreds of posts that seem completely irrelevant. I think this is one aspect of the site that could be improved, but it's no biggie.

I use the forum search option.. but I picked "I always find what I want by looking at the topics", because usually there is a topic about what I am looking for

I couldn't decide between I can never find what i'm searching for and I didn't know it was there...
When I look for something I have to go down or next page to find something I need, and the search button is like hidden....All the way at the bottom of forums, might put it somewhere visible.

would it really of hurt to have an option saying "I do use the search"

Yup. Some serious recoding has to be done on the search feature. More search options please! (we need to lower the number of results) The results tend to be huuuuge. Who's gonna sift through 100 pages?

admit though it does come up with vague searches sometimes and is a pain that cant search for small words

ya i sorta agree the search function is very annoying, it errors on all short terms and usually puts irrelevant posts on top... perhaps sort by date? allow shorter terms? allow operators like AND or OR, i dunno?

i love pointless posts...
and the search is just not good enough to be used. one word may be used 100 times in one big thread and that will be 100 search results for one thread. it shows every post.an option would be good to only show the topic. that way there would be only a few search results, and people maybe have a chance to find anything there...

Another thing we need is the ability to use quotes in a query.
