Firefox FTW!

Okay, it's easier to code a page for Internet Explorer, cause it have support for it's own javascript and so, but Firefox is so much faster and cleaner.

And the plugins are great. Adblocker rules!

Maxthon

Maxthon Internet Browser software is a powerful tabbed browser with a highly customizable interface. It is based on the Internet Explorer browser engine which means that what works in the IE browser will work the same in Maxthon tabbed browser but with many additional efficient features like...

Tabbed Browsing Interface
Mouse Gestures
Super Drag&Drop
Privacy Protection
AD Hunter
RSS Reader
IE Extensions Support
External Utility Bar
Skinning
And Much More to Explore...

i use it! very best of all of them imo!

I used Opera almost since the first versions and still do. FF seems a bit heavy and rough for me where Opera is light and fast imo. I install FF on a lot of machines bc it's what ppl have heard about but i'd recommend Opera anytime. FF is definately a good choice but not my personal first and these days i don't even have it on my machines - Just IE for some special pages that don't work in Opera and then Opera for 99,9999% of my browsing ;-)

Adblock for opera

edit: Just got an alpha/beta of a new browser called Flock. It so far uses ten FF extensions and has built in rss and weblog publishing. Eh, looks a tad better than the default FF and it hasn't crashed..yet. It's no threat to FF yet, but it might be fun for peeps who want their own blog, so they can flame without worrying about warnings.

Judge for yourself. My new favorite is Opera. But in the end itīs a matter of taste. The truth is out there, Opera is the fastest and itīs safe. Firefox is not faster than IE but itīs safer or so I have heard. But peeps believe what they want to believe.
Browser speed test: h**p://www.howtocreate.co.uk/browserSpeed.html#winspeed
There is a beta (preview) of Opera 9.0 that is even faster than 8.5 but itīs not without flaws. I recommend 8.5.
Iīm not sure but a couple of antispyware apps detects spyware in Maxthon (eTrust Pestpatrol and Trend Micro Antispyware). I have tried Avant too, itīs a bit to slow for me but itīs one of the best.

I love Opera itīs the fastest brower in the galaxy and itīs safe. Firefox is slower than a turtle on morfine. This is the only true competitor to IE.

As much as I like firefox and have no plans to stop using it, it's always seemed to use far more RAM than other browsers:

That's with 8 extensions installed (downTHEMall!, Tabbrowser, Linkification, IE View, CustomizeGoogle, ChatZilla, Forecastfox and Adblock) and only one tab open, using 1.0.7. I'm not very concerned about this as I have 2GB of RAM and I don't notice the loss as there's still more than 1GB available. I have tried Opera and I didn't like it, so if anyone has any suggestions about reducing the RAM usage, they'd be apprecitaed.

edit: It has been open for a while I guess, probably around 7 hours as I don't usually close it when until I turn off my computer. Ah well, I guess it's easy enough to close it every now and again.

Firefox usually only takes a lot of RAM when it has been open for some time (because of the loaded images, especially).

That's mine right after starting it. I have 31 extensions enabled.

If anyone would like to try Opera 9.0 itīs recommended to not uninstall 8.5. A bug prevents you from importing your favorites in 9.0. But on the other hand, itīs even faster and some other bugs are fixed. In the information they donīt recommend that you install it over previous versions, I donīt know why but do what feels best for you.

Firefox now accounts for 11.5% of all browsers. Looking good, hopefully they'll just keep growing.

I was a convert from IE to FF a year or so ago, loved FF and never used IE again. Now I've started using Opera, and its even better than FF. Faster, both in page loading and the actual browser itself, and tonnes of cool features (I never bothered with all the addins for FF, too annoying).

Btw though, why are you guys all posting links to adblocking addons to Opera? I just have the browser without any addons (version 8.5) and it seems to block all ads, so I don't see the need for an addon.
