A Chrome concern:
If I were to open Chrome on someone else's PC, and wanted to sign in to access my browsing data temporarily, I could create a new user in settings, sign in and have all my saved passwords transferred... then delete the user after i'm finished.

But is this safe? would deleting a user from chrome erase all trace of the browsing data?

Yeah, the 12 is buggy as hell. Have you opted out from html5 on youtube?

I ended up switching to Chrome it was so bad, don't know if they've improved it yet.

But does anyone know if there's a way to stack tabs in Chrome like you can in Opera?

Go to about in the customise button, Click in and change chrome://chrome/ in the address bar to chrome://flags  Scroll down and choose stacked tabs, change to enable n you're done. it's in dev though so don't whine to me if it seems buggy. Works fine for me btw

So I've finally made the switch from the buggy Firefox to Chrome and it's brilliant. I just miss a feature I was used to all these years: The sidebar with bookmarks. Any verified, non-buggy extension for this?

Not completely safe, unless you also wipe that user folder. And even then, if you are going to be searching "How to blow up government buildings" you'd be better off with a browser on a flash drive. I use portable Pale Moon for my terrorist activities.

I do not have an answer to your question but I have one of my own. Have you customized chrome? Cause I just can't make the jump.
I do wanna try chrome for a bit since it is light and zippy. I am a diehard firefox user. I just cannot use opera or chrome. Is there anyway to make the jump smoother?

I too was a die-hard Firefoxer but give Chrome a few days and you'll forget why you ever liked FF.  Chrome is just so much quicker than Firefox and it won't take much to move over to it.

I too can't move to Opera despite it being very well rated in all the benchmarks - the same goes for IE10.

Couldn't get Chrome to work on two of my laptops. It had a nasty bug that would make all tabs go away just by left-clicking one. Something between Chrome and certain mice and touchpads. Last time I checked there were reports of it all over the web but it had not been fixed. I've been using Opera since then and I actually like it more than Chrome. Love the side icons that give me easy access to favorites, history, chat (irc), etc. It's fast and I have yet to find a bug.

Funny enough I had issues with IE on two different computers. I changed to Chrome and have not looked back.

Since then, got a new laptop and my wife has gone onto IE and tbh, its pretty awesome too.

I used opera a few years back ans since then hung on to firefox. Now I will give chrome another shot(I do use chrome now and then but I come back to firefox every time).
One of the things I don't like about chrome is the sign-in to add most extensions. WTF? I don't need that shit. Just let me install whatever I want where I want. Signing-in to add apps should have been optional.

It's fast as hell, light and clean. I love it. I just seriously miss the bookmarks on the left side tho. I've tried an extension for it, but it just didn't fit in Chrome, since it was oversized.

Also, I need to figure it out a bit. Like for instance, I need to find out how to make Chrome trust websites like TorrentBytes as a SSL sites, as it is currently rejecting them.

Import the certificate into the "Trusted Root Certificate" store.  Make sure to do this as admin or it will look like it's doing it but then when you check back it'll be gone.

http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms788967.aspx

Open mmc as admin.  You can export the certificates through IE or FF.  I think you can do it through Chrome too but can't remember off the top of my head.

I've imported the certificate, but I'm still getting the https in the url crossed out as red.

And if you go back and look in the certificate store do you see it?

I imported it numerous times and it said it all went OK but when going back to the site I had the crossed out https.  Whenever I went back and looked the certificate was not in the store.

I had to make sure I ran mmc as admin before importing it to the Trusted Root Certificates store.  Make sure you haven't imported it anywhere else.

I'm not getting it crossed out no more, but there is a warning there. It's telling me the connection is encrypted with 256-bit encryption, but it includes other resources, which are not secure.

Which is correct because TB site images are http not https if I remember correctly not to mention all the images in the forums.

Well it is less annoying than the X, so thank you.

Anyway, I'm still having trouble adjusting to the new browser. I miss the favourites bar on the left side, and the search bar in the top right corner (I don't want to always use the url bar to search), and there are no good extensions for that.
