OK then

type about:config in your address bar

find

pref.browser.homepage.disable_button.restore_default

set it to "true"

What i don't like now is the titlebar is gone, you have to read the title of the webpage in the Tab & there's just noet enough room for a normal title.

Some webpages write their title the wrong way like:

TorrentBytes

Should be:

"Browser Discussion" :: Topic :: Apps :: Forum :: TorrentBytes

This way i could read:

"Browser discussion"

Instead of 5 tabs with "TorrentBytes"

Installed FF 4.0 a few days ago, but there seems to have been some changes that I can't figure out how to fix. Every time I mouse over a link a notification-bar pops up in the bottom left corner telling me where that link takes me. Got no problem with that but I want the notification to happen inside the bottom status bar and not on top of the bar. Have tried it all I think from disabling 1 and 1 addon to running completly without addons. Any ideas?

Addons installed are:
adblock plus 1.3.3
download statusbar 0.9.8
flashblock 1.5.14.2

Here is a SS showing what I mean: http://i54.tinypic.com/2jdkg9z.jpg

Ran into problem with NHL Video Center. I can't watch the full game highlights, because somehow it always skips to next game. And when watching single goals, it doesn't go smoothly; the video lags.

The problem started after downloading this new Firefox 4. Maybe I have to get some extension etc?

anyone having infinite reload problems with this site http://maxconsole.net/

using firefox 3 worked fine but 4 seems to reload the page again and again and again for a good minute before stopping

also anyone know how to permantly get the status bar back in firefox 4?

gotta admit 4 is definatly smoother and faster than 3 no more hangs or anything loads right up

my only gripe is the imageshack toolbar isn't supported and neither is minimizetotray

Discovered Palemoon today, http://www.palemoon.org/

Quote:

Why settle for a basic build of your Firefox browser on Windows Operating Systems when you can have one that is specifically made for getting the most out of your system? Mozilla does not provide optimized browser packages for Windows, meaning you may be losing speed and efficiency when you use your browser; and truth be told, most people use their browsers all the time! That needs to change, so, here is the Pale Moon project: Custom-built and optimized Firefox browsers for Windows Operating Systems. Make sure to get the most speed and efficiency out of your browser!

Of course, getting a more efficient browser is not just about optimizing the compilation process (building a program from its source code), but also about carefully choosing features and knowing how to choose the best setup. This means that this browser, however extremely close to Firefox in the way it works, does not have all the functions that Firefox has. A few, carefully selected, features have been disabled that are not in high demand, and that do not interfere with the way web pages are displayed or function; all to maximize speed and efficiency of the browser. Please see the page with technical details to learn exactly what the browser supports, and what it doesn't support. In short, if you need accessibility features or parental controls, then please visit the firefox homepage and get the official, non-optimized build.

With the new version 4, there are also a few other differences that are more obvious and not just "under the hood": contrary to what Mozilla has done with their redesign of the user interface, Pale Moon will continue to provide a familiar set of controls and visual feedback similar to previous versions, including grouped navigation buttons of a decent size, a bookmarks toolbar that is enabled by default, and not in the least a functional status bar.

I personally notice speed improvements.

Google Chrome as previous people have said.
Sync with your gmail account and all of your bookmarks and even your addons/extension are saved.
So whenever you format or install on a new computer just relogin and resync all done.

Right click on the menu bar and select "Customize"
There is a menu on the bottom left.
