@sokkra: If it is like you say, why do people complain about their stats not being counted when they have DHT Network enabled?

*me goes off in search of a torrent with more peers than the tracker is saying*
will seed a torrent tonight with DHT on and tell you if all my stats update correctly. If they don't oh well my loss and will tell you for sure

Well, I don't have proper statistics for problems with stats for those with DHT enabled or disabled.
But people have been complaining about stats all the time.Even before any DHT was implemented on bittorrent network.
I'd say, it's just an excuse. But,hey I myself am not a developer of BT client ,so i'm not 100 % sure, that you are not right.Let's wait for other opinions or/and for successful termination of Green's experiment

Suppose the only thing wrong with it is the fact your uploading to peeps who aren't part of this 'community'.

While using DHT, can the peers your connected to by DHT obtain your passkey in any way?
yes you are uploading to non community leechers as long as its all turned off properly and the client is restarted after the options change they cannot connect to you.. turn it off and don't restart the client then you might as well have left DHT on (in bit comet).
and..no they can't all they see is the swarm not anything else.. @passkey
