Ok, i've seen one to many comments/posts about people who can't
get the rip they downloaded, to work.I'll try to make a small guide, if it's no good, just throw it away...

"It says missing rar.001" Sounds familiar?

First, check that you have all the files in the rls, make sure no files are missing.
It says on the torrent description page, how many files are included.

Now, the easy way first. Simply mark all the zip/rar files.
Then right click, and if you are lucky, you should see
an "Extract files..." command. (this is for winrar users which have context menu activated)
(If you have no such menu, jump down to next part)
Now choose a temp folder, and extract.
Now try to open the first rar/zip in the newly used temp folder.
Extract all the files you find to the game folder which you want to use.
F.ex. C:\Games\DrivingTheNewbie
Then run the install.bat or setup.bat which normally is included.
Now the game should work.

You don't have the "Extract files..." in your right click menu?
Ok, then it's the hard way.
You have to manually extract all the zip/rar files in the original folder,
to a temp folder.
First, open nr 1 and extract the rar/zip inside to a temp folder.
Then open nr 2, and extract the rar/zip to the same temp folder as
used before.
The filename may seem the same, but don't let that fool ya.
Do this with all the rar/zip files, until you have the temp folder
filled with the same amount of files as the rar/zip files you just unpacked from.
Now try to open the first rar/zip in the newly used temp folder.
Extract all the files you find to the game folder which you want to use.
F.ex. C:\Games\DrivingTheNewbie
Then run the install.bat or setup.bat which normally is included.
Now the game should work.

(i can't belive i actually wrote this... )

In most rips (notice rips) the downloaded rar/zip files are kinda double packed.
With that i mean the first set of files usually contains only 1 file. (+nfo and maybe a txt file)

In the pic below, i have opened two different zip files from the same rls.
You can see the name of the zip, and you see the name of the rar inside.
The 1st zip i have opened, contains a new *.RAR
The second has a *.R08 extension.

This image has been resized, click here to view the full-sized image.
In order to not get "missing rar" you'd need to have all the RAR -> R99 (where 99 of course is fictionaryin this case)

In cd or dvd rls's, i usually do as you suggested. Then both cue and bin file
usually appears. ;-)

good post but add if you can about holding CTRL and unclicking the SFV or anyother non-rar file, then trying to un-rar again.

Yea, i was only talking about archives. (thx for note)
Don't mark any other file.

Reason i bothered doing this, was because i randomly see
ppl with this problem.
"Buuhuuu it says missing rar"
But i also noticed nobody ever cares to explain how it works,
so this is it. Thx for good replies, feel free to add more info if you got any.
