The answer is simple - no money. I've got a "cash-queue" ready : 1G of RAM (~$62,5), "new" computer (~100PLN) and an 1G mp3 flash-player (~300PLN).

i voted for Nothing and I don't plan on it cuz...
..im only 16 yrs old and i dont have a job, plus i hae other things to buy.....and dont get me wrong i love this side ...amazing speed, lots of seeders, lots of files...atc really COOL site...
but if ill have some spare muny ( wich i doubt bout it) ill donate ...sry bout that... )

The reason I'm not donating is that I can't see or control where the money ultimately goes. I trust the admins for that it goes to the tb "treasury" but what happens to the treasury if the site suddenly dies for some reason? As we all know the governing nature of human beings, the charity of common good would be an unlikely destination.
To make donating more appealing a real-time display of the amount of money in the treasury would be necessary along with a donation log showing who has donated and how much. Also, the maintenance expenses should be visible. This way I would know if I'm actually helping the community or just adding more money to a treasury that already covers the expenses for the next ten years.

I have only donated the once too, about a week ago.
If I'm downloading some good new releases then I don't have any problem whatsoever with donating a little to help the site get bigger and stronger, it's the least I can do really.

I got a thank you from Jeff and BL. Ive donated more than once and always $20. I will donate again soon.
I donate to help the site out and help the staff out who as far as im aware some have been known to take the brunt of the bills onboard themselfs.
I download allot here and i enjoy reading the threads in the forums, i even have a little chat every now and then in IRC with some really funny and great people.
I have been known to be one of the most critical and negative person on here but a few $20 donations now and then to help out is the least i can do to play my part in a communty i genuinely enjoy being part of.
I dont have a high paid job nor do i have allot of money but when i think about what i have had from this site and will get in the future its a small price to pay to help out.
I was shocked by the statistics and i keep hearing how people want improvements like game servers and a bigger user base, to get these things people have to give a bit. If we all gave $1 then the bills would be paid and the site would be paid for some time
Thats just my opinion though and its up to the individuals as to whether or not they wish to donate.

Nothing in the last two months but i donated £40 to help this site (TB2) on its feet when it was just a temp forum. Donated £10 a month later too.
I haven't donated since cos i also donate to other sites but i would be more willing to donate if we could see more info on the server costs and how much does get donated. Not because i don't trust the admins here but just to see how much money is needed.
i havent yet..but will do when im a multi millionaire

I havent because it seem's loads of people donate here and there are other smaller site's which I donate to instead..

Wth? Where do you get these numbers from?
I calculated that if the current stats was to apply to all 50K users and everybody would donate the max amount mentioned it would only go up to 4202 dollars a month. That's the THEORETICAL max. My guess is that the real number is just a tenth of that.

Remember that less than 6000 users voted. And most active users already voted, to your estimate isn't very accurate
