I just said, "Blank Vote," because I didn't know how good this Google Talk program. I ended up voting a little too soon, heh.
The talking part, is really, crystal-clear. Which kinda amazed me because I was maxing out my connection at the time uploading some stuff, yet the sound from my friend and to him does not chop up or lag at all. Like Google says on their page, it really does seem as if they are in the same room. Also, simplicity is still their main idea, not very many options to deal with, so on and so forth.
But other then the talking part, everything is just general. Like MSN and AIM, it checks your e-mail for you on their network. But you can't change fonts or colors on Google, which might be a downside for the general public. But I like it, I hate seeing people with strange and bizzare colors that does nothing more then hurt my eyes. But it is still in the beta stage apparently, so I'm looking foward to see more with this.
If I could change my vote, I'd change it to, "I'm all for more Google products (bring on GoogleOS!)."

Same purpose. I don't even use MSN, Yahoo!, ICQ, etc... For chat Skype is my favorite, you hear voice you know, more meaningful to spend time for chit chat.

This is not someting evil new standard google has created. Google Talk use the open project Jabber in their program. That also means that you can use other clients than Google Talk as long as they support Jabber .
Im all for google. Their stuff is free so atm its not really causing a problem.
As long if it's free, let's bring all the google stuff

google's email client is quick and clean - 2gb is not "too good to be true". 99% of users use less than 1% of their alotted usage.
google maps / google earth is interesting at least.
google IM client should also be quick and clean - it's adapted from jabber or whatever. what do you mean, "IM is one step too far" ? what's the alternative IM client? AIM, MSN and ICQ all suck ass, and are even worse on gaim or trillian.
google video is a good idea - they adapted it from videolan's project.
i don't know what they're basing googleOS on, but the most important things for a program or an OS are user interface (google has proven they can do this) and stability (if they base it on unix/linux it should be fine)
personally i don't care at all about spyware that could !!!!!!!! track my surfing habits.

Well google is willing to take on microsoft. I thought all the people annoyed with MS would be happy by that.
Maybe not on all platforms but who knows google might make an os or it be in the works at the moment.
Hotmail has now increased its storage limits be it if google had not had Gmail then im sure it would of remained at the small amount.
Google,Firefox and Linux is making Microsoft give more away.

and buying smileys(??!) wtf is up with that
ofcoure you can "patch"/crack msn to remove the ads and stuff... but its annoying to do it every time theres an update :S
Just search with google, google earth isn't all that bad though..

Weird poll. Google talk is awesome. Finally a major IM player using a sane protocol.
This means everybody can decide which client they wanna use, and you'll always be able to use an ad-free one.
It's not as free as IRC, but certainly a step up from the cesspit of proprietary networks (MSN).
Also the client application is great. Simple, clean and non-obtrusive.
