ATI tool is not made by ATI but it is the best program to clock a ati card with its has an very advanced artifact scanning and u have alot of options in ATI tools. U can read more on http://www.techpowerup.com/atitool/

yes, i read that, but i can't really call it stable on my pc :-/, don't know if it is me or my nvidia...
cause atitool left me sitting there 3 times when setting some things in 5 minutes... so
i wasn't very pleased

riva tuner is arguably the best Overclocker for nVidia cards.

I think I could go higher but memory holding it back I'd have to step down to 133 then. I'd guess it's better to leave it @ this then... Temp = same as when on stock speed. Aka 30-31 during absolute no load, 32-34 when regural load or idle. 42-43 during 100 % load, All temps in C. And yeah cpu cooler runs @ 60 % capacity during full load . Atleast it's clocked over the 4800+ and beats it's comparision marks in Sisoft, saved me a few hundred €

Also is there any proggie that could make me available to set the memory on something between 166 and 133 ? .

that's motherboard dependant, some motherboards got 200-166-133-100

others got 200-183-166-150-133-120-100

okey too bad... I'm still happy how it runs soo

Also other motherboards I believe that it's only DFI that have those extra options to set memory I believe.

Yes.. Good programs for clocking an AMD socket 939 is Clockgen and A64 Tweaker.

In Clockngen you can change FSB/HTT, Multiplier, Voltage to CPU and much more. A64 Tweaker is for the memorys.

You can set timings, dividers, and more. Try them out, great programs. ;-)

Hello. I am a total n00b in overclocking.
I want to overclock my Celeron 2.4 Ghz to 3 Ghz. How can i do that and what programs do i need? Do i need better cooling too? My CPU fan is the stock fan and its pretty good.

#516442 by unknown[91892] at 2006-01-18 21:32:41 (7 years ago) - [Report]Top

Doesn't really matter how much you overclock a Celeron, it's still going to be crap.

hi guys! i have an Asus A7N8X-Deluxe Motherboard, and an Athlon XP 2600+ with a Scythe aftermarket cooler on it.

i was wondering if it was possible to overclock it to the speeds of a 3200 or so...right now, at stock, it runs at 2.0Ghz....

the friend who gave this to me, said that it couldnt erally overclock, but i was wondering if it was possible.

my RAM is 1 GB (2x512) PC2700 and one stick is value RAM, the other is PQI....due to this, should i even bother OCing or not?

Nope, you wont get 3200 speeds unless you get God him self to help you out cuz you need a friggen miracle with that RAM and that motherboard.

try setting the timings of the ram like 3-3-3-8 if u can see something like this in the bios

or download a modded bios to set CPC to T2 instead of T1  --> yup there are many for 462 platform

then try raising ur frequency from 333 to something higher .. if it didnt respont .. reset bios defaults and just live with ur system

p.s: if u got sata hdds .. consider overclocking again cuz probably their frequencies wont be locked and will mess up ur system files
