probably a software issue, check for any running services that consumes the CPU power while windows is running

anyway don't panic, the worst case scenario is u'll need a fresh windows installation.

but i don't want to format my computer !!!

and there is no such a program thats make my CPU crazy

Edit: my Antivirus found virus Named:

<System>=>HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\MAGNET    Detected: magne2t
<System>=>HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\MAGNET    Deleted

that virus was on my computer a week ago,  i deleted him and shut down System Restore. after a week it came back as you see and i deleted him again ...

plz some one can find me some info about this virus ?? (in Bitdefender web there is no such a thing)

try repairing it, i guess it is there somewhere in the tutorials section, if that didn't fix it, and u still don't want to format, then on your own regarding this issue, good luck.

Insert your windows cd. Reboot on the CD and the first following windows install screen you choose "recovery console"
Once the install enters recovery mode you should enter.

cd\ (the console might start at c:\windows)
cd windows\system32\config (if the console start at c:\windows\ you should only enter the digitīs after c:\windows\)
dir system
ren system system.bak
copy c:\windows\repair\system

Press CTRL + ALT + Delete or hit the reset button

And badabing - Windows is now working. Although you should reinstall chipset and graphic driver. I have not notice any performance slowdown after doing this method.

EDITED:
this solution was copied from Xtremesystems.org forums section

Don't take it so seriously man Just saying how much time does one need to "have fun" with it, just go as far as you can and then settle with a bit less

hey.. i'm running into some weird problems overclocking my system.

System:

Asus P5B Deluxe wifi/ap
E6600 Core 2
Geil 2x1 GB 800mhz CL5 rated DDR2
OC'ed Geforce 7900GT@580mhz, stock voltage.

So. The 7900GT seems to run fine. However, tried overclocking CPU. Raised FSB from 266 to 300, no problems there. Raised FSB to 310, wont boot, set FSB:RAM ratio to 4:5. Raised Vcore, booted. Tried to run a game, reboot at first loading screen. Raised vcore, nothing happened. Ran prime95@cpu-only test, 2 instances running. All fine for 5 minutes. Ran prime95@mucho-ram test, 1 instances, fatal failure after ~.01 sec.

Weird thing is that with FSB 300 it can run at 450mhz-->900mhz DDR@1.8v. at FSB 310 it cant run 338mhz-->672 mhz@1.8-2.1v. Last thing I havnt tried is running the memory at FSB 310 with 2:3 FSB:RAM ratio.. Guess I will try that after this post..

Does anyone have a clue why I cant run my fecking memory @ 700mhz when FSB is 310, when I can run it @ 900mhz with FSB 300?

Haha! Guess who's computer wont boot? tried running memory with 2:3 ratio @ 310 FSB=930mhz.. monitor stays black, and the diode on the monitor stays orange all the time.. :/ How can I revert it to original bios?

/edit: cleared CMOS and flashed bios to latest revision(405). Seems to be working better now. Managed to get it to start @333 FSB, about 3000mhz cpu speed. Increasing to 340FSB doesnt seem to work at any amount of vcore.. Any tips?

1] what memory divider are u using?! try the lowest memory divider to find the max cpu clocks
2] is there any FSB voltage raising settings?!
3] is there any chipset voltage raising settings?!
4] try to up vdimm a bit more, check with memory manufacturer for maximum supported voltage
5] pci/pci-e bus locked?!
6] try asus forums for modded bios

you think its easy don't ya ?

to format and install a new os x64 its a big problem

and another thing that not all the progs can run in my os

i need special progs and fire walls that support 64 bit proccesors its not easy

and i gonna lose many things that i have bin colecting like Photoshop works and porn ( )

and much more...

-- yes it is very easy

to format and install a new os x64 its a big problem
-- of course, as 64-bit drivers and supporting software is still under development, u should go back to x86 OS

and another thing that not all the progs can run in my os
-- that's why u should go 32-bits till 64-bits windows is ready

i need special progs and fire walls that support 64 bit proccesors its not easy

and i gonna lose many things that i have bin colecting like Photoshop works and porn ( )
-- when u format u format the c: drive, not the entire harddisk, unless of course u are a one partition guy, then that's YOUR mistake and problem, but format is mainly easy

and much more...
-- whatever

one more thing:
64-bit performance is not that much enhanced over the 32-bit performance, especially when u combine the problems u are facing with whatever performance gap u are gaining "which is practically not more than 3%-5% as an overall performance gain, even worse, sometimes it is performance LOSS" anyway, ur call ur computer

i cant come back to the normal windows

i tryed this once and my computer gets f*cked up so i change back to 64 and its fine :\ untill this sh!t i get now

and still the 64 bit much betther then 32 bit :s

and another thing... the 64 os is ready as you see ? what you think i use now Linux ?

ofcorse that windows professional x64 corporate is a big mistake of microsoft but still i cant go back to 86x

i wait for Vista x64

just get a clean copy of windows and u are fine, XP with SP2 with March or later updates integrated, nothing that'll f**k up ur computer as you say after this clean installation. thinking that 64-bit is giving u extra protection is a bunch of bull crap as there is nothing like that.

1] I'm running it 1:1, which means that FSB 333=RAM 333.. Which means 666, when my memory is rated 800. Memory is also specified as 1.8-2.2v. Upping it to 1.95.

2] There is an FSB Termination voltage. It's set to "Auto" right now.. I can choose between 1.2-1.45v. What should i set it to?

3] Aye, ICH chipset, northbridge and southbridge voltage controls, any recommendation?

4] See 1]

5]PCI locked at 33.3mhz. PCI-e locked at 100 mhz. I guess that SATA is locked from start?

6] Will check it out.

/edit: maybe I should note that i am running the stock cooler.

1]In bios I get the rated DDR2 speeds, not the divider. So, for example, in my bios it says DDR2-666 instead of 1:1 when I run at 333FSB. 1:1 is also the lowest possible divider.

2] Set it to 1.3, could choose between 1.2 - 1.3 - 1.4 - 1.45.

3] ICH chipset voltage seem's weird.. I can choose between 2 options: 1.058 and 1.250(or something like that). It says "ICH Chipset 1.05" voltage control at the top, so I guess stock is 1.05.. huge leap between 1.058 and 1.250?! should it be like that?

4] Cant seem to set timings manually.. Atleast I cant find where..

5]ok

6] Incidentally, no. I flashed my bios yesterday, went to www.asus.com and checked the latest for my motherboard. It said 0405, and it still does. Weird, they must have removed that biosversion, perhaps it was unstable?

Talking of unstable, www.asus.com website sucks, it takes a buttload of time to.. load. Also I cant get the forum to work, due to the "vast amount of users". I just hate asus.

7] Which program would you recommend for monitoring CPU temps in win? freeware

ok overclocked it a bit more.

Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 2.40GHz@3.645GHz
Idle temp: 37
Load temp: 49

I'm able to get lower temps but some funky stuff goes on with the voltages
If I overclock it to 3-3.4Ghz my idle temp was around 25-28 (cant exactly remember) and load was around 35-40 (cant exactly remember).

I was able to get 3.80Ghz but Windows wouldn't boot up from that, the system does though.

Will be testing it more in the weekend....

Next step is to overclock my graphics card.

p.s. using Asus P5W DH Deluxe motherboard.

Strange...
3DMark06 isn't able to run the 4th graphics test anymore, the Deep Freeze test.
My system automatically reboots after the graphics test loading screen.

Tried 3DMark06 again with default stock speed and settings and still it isn't able to run it anymore.

I've also unlocked my ATI overdrive feature, tried on stock too and it also wont run it anymore.

Anyone got any ideas why?

offtopic: anyway to silence a PSU? >.< its the only thing that makes noise out of my case, hummm humm humm sound. (OCZ GameXstream 600W) - should I replace the default fan?

I am trying to overclock my X2 3800+

Right now i put it to 240 x 10 and it stable. v core is v1.43 and 2.7v on dimm

the problem now is that there are "hiccups" eg. When I am listening to music it pauses and repeats for one millisecond, same with games. This "hiccup" comes after every 20 seconds ( I measured)

Why does this happen?!

motherboard is k8nf-9, ram is ocz premiere dual channel 1 gig 2.5.4.4.8

edit: Increased the v core to 1.45, HT link by +0.1 and CPU/RAM ratio to 2/1.8

finally its stable
