Rrealisticly we have only seen 5 of the others, 3 on boat, eathen and the guy that anna-lucie killed. For all we know the tourches that light up could be the kids they have collected from the crash, including walt... kids are very easy to manipulate and with a little treat you can get em to do anything (especially under the circumstances where they havnt had candy, video games, etc for weeks), so if a group of adults was to attack em they would stand a good chance.

But i do agree it was a rather cheesey line, especially since he was asking Anna-lucie a cop, instead of Sayd who was a trained soldier of a ruthless army.

"The others" (I hate that... gives us a god damned name to call these people!) have proven that they can move across the island with impunity though. They also obviously know at least a little bit about the survivors. Their knowledge, and the survivors' lack of knowledge, gives them a huge advantage before a shot is even fired.

I doubt we'll see any type of "war" until season 3 though. Season 2 will likely end with the survivors meeting up with the others, and will either end there, or it will end with an important person getting shot.

For those of you who liked Gabriella you can get more info on her and also a lot of pictures at www.monicadean.info BTW she is a romanian actress and not italian as you may think. (she just knows italian, that's all)

I thought something was array... her accent was pretty bad, making the whole seductress thing that much cheesier.

Good point that Sayd should be the one talking about training an army - especially since Anna has no discipline, self control, or rationality.

As for 'the others' using the children for their army - perhaps children can be trained obedience - but they can't simply be taught the stealth that was exhibited in that scene. Locke is atune to his surroundings, and it would take a lot to sneak up on him. Its a tv show anyway, so consistancy or accuracy is never mandatory....

It is indeed quite weird that Jack didn't ask Sayd about training an army instead, man why wouldn't he do that? Either Jack's dumb or the ones who wrote the story messed up a bit.

My theory is that the others are normal people who have not been stranded there, they have come there on purpose. They have electricity and a motor boat, and they're located near that 3rd bunker ('cause they have a computer). And they know what happens if you don't reset the timer...
