He wasn't, but Locke let him out, and yes those were the quarantine doors to keep others from coming in there (and possible deceases too).

Could the fake Henry Gale be Desmond's old partner? I can't remember what happened to him, if Desmond actually saw him die or if he just assumed the guy died due to the quarantine.

It might explain how he raised the doors, if he did and remembered the numbers so fast (even though its hardly a long string..)

Also i seem to remember that it was Desmond's partner who was the dharma monkey and he only met Desmond after Des' boat was shipwrecked

I think the producers made a mistake they could have done it much more intersting...:
If Lock would tell "Henry" wrond numbers like insted of 23 he should have said 32 and then he would have known that He isnt realy Hnery...

The next ep looks great!! cant wait till Thursday which by the way is a HolidaY!! Pesah in Israel guyz we cant eat bread for 2 weeks we can only it things which aren't made of flour

What about the doors go down because it is something within that area that causes planes/boats/etc to crash since this "plane" that dropped the stuff didnt crash.

Or the package could be from a long time ago and theyve only just found it.

Not really, Locke wants him to type the right number and if he was who he told him, he would have typed in wrong numbers and then they would die (at least thats what locke thinks)

I think that someone would have noticed if a plane dropped those supplies.

How do we know the others know about the hatch? I can memorize 10 didgits without even having to think about it. It's strange how he knew to put a space inbetween though as Locke didn't mention that.

And the part with Hurley in the trailer looks like a dream or hallucination to me.
