Answer to the above spoiler:
AFAIK the genii is at peace/neutral with the atlantias now, since they're under new rule. They kinda helped out when Sheppard was taken capture by the rouge genii (where he met todd).


I started watching Atlantis before I started my SG1 marathon (S1-S10). I found that SG1 was great with McGyver in it, but when he quit his main role it just became dull. In that sense Atlantis was better, since i started watching stargate while Richard had quit SG1.

If I was to compare pre S8 SG1 with Current SGA, I would say that SG1 was better. Having said that, SGA is my favourite series right now because of Dr. McCay.
My interrest was sadly bumped when the doc died, but now there might be hope

Surprisingly I've started to like McKay. When he was introduced in SG1 I absolutly hated his guts. But the man is actually a good actor and makes his character constantly reach new highs while evolving.

But unfortunatly the manuscript for these characters almost on purpose stay away from being similiar to SG1. He cold basically become the man version of Sam.

I think I wouldnt mind at all if Teyla died sometime soon and was replaced. I dont like that char at all, she reminds me of a man, not a woman. Also I wouldnt take Ronans death hevily, as we havent really gotten to know him at all. But if Sheppard or McCay died, the show would be over!

i think they should kill off sheppard and replace him with john crichton (colonel mitchell from s9-10 sg1) his acting in farscape is probably the best ive seen in any sci fi show

I went to this tileshop this weekend and there was this guy looking 100 % exactly like Colonel Mitchell. He was totally eyeballing me like "you can't bear those tiles" but I totally could lols. So thats what he's doing now, carrying tiles.

Farscape  canceled? the guy that played John Crichton was an excellent actor.

Once again, I don't think farscape has been canceled?

It's 4 seasons and to end it they made the farscape movie, so it didn't seem much 'canceled' to me.

Wrong thread but just have to say that Farscape was infact cancelled . Scifi refused to pickup the fifth season plan. More of it can be found here: http://www.farscapeweekly.com/cancelled.htm - there is an interesting chat-log at the bottom with Ben Browder and others & http://www.scifi.com/farscape/faq/

Much like most scifi series have been cancelled, out of the blue. Babylon 5 & Firefly to name a few (this had some episodes already ready which were never aired - perhaps on dvd?).

Back to the topic..wonder if we get any questions answered this week . Cant wait...

..what about the "replicator" version of Weir... wonder what they're upto.

Watching fifth episode of seson two now. I just have to say how annoyed I am. Why can't that Baywatch Hawaii dude wear a uniform like everyone else.

Just look at the way season 4 ended, they were expecting to write more. But because they didn't, they made the movie to tie up the loose ends.

Aholas peeps.

I was just wondering. I have been traveling a lot lately, been in roma, paris, london, alger, tunise, nice, alicante and madrid. so i had a lot of time to watch the series, and i am in 10season already. I basically watched 1episode early morning, 1 after dinner and 1 before i went to bed on my laptop. 3 a day, sometimes more. Depends on how excited i am to know whats happening in the next episode.

Anyways, since i am in 10season, will the movie/s ruin anything for me? maybe spoil some stuff...

2nd question, how many movies are there? names of the movie(s) would be sweet.

Well, there is the Stargate movie, which is pre-season 1. So you are clear to watch that one. And there is Stargate: The Ark of Truth which is after Season 10 in the storyline. So I suggest you wait to see that one until you finish watching season 10. There is one more movie due in late 2008? I think.

The movies are set after season 10, but there is nothing in between. As long as you finish season 10 as opposed to watching the movies during season 10 (which is what it sounded like from your description) you'll be fine.

I'm still not comfy about The ark of truth. Wasn't that just a workprint that's out now?

Anyway I just saw the superenergy solution in Atlantis, and it got me thinkin'. I've seen much different Ancient technology throughout the show so far, and I have to say I'm still more impressed with the Asgard technology.

The ancients chose to ascend and abandon everything, while the asgard stayed and perfected their technology. Remember in the last episode. One of the tools they got from them was a matter converter that could make anything. Isn't that pretty much the best it's gonna get? And far superior to what I've seen of ancient technology.

not all ancients ascended, a lot of them died from the plague

I am so sad right now. The "Azgards" have been vaporised. Seriously, i feel sadness because of the show. thats amazing. its the first time i have even felt anything for a tv show. The last episode of season 10 is worth all the episodes of Stargate season together.

Take that Canadian dude (forgot his name), his annoying. Ive never liked him, he talks to much and bad acting.
The "general" chick is annoying on the most ways ever, specially with her eyes always moving and doing weird things, disturbing. She played a couple of mins on SG-1, and only those mins almost killed me.
Than u get the afro american chick dressed up like Xena. I mean FFS, are you kidding me.
In the other hand u got the afro american dude and the white dude in the middle whom both look alright.

mackay (canadian nerd) is actually a really good actor (won awards for his acting in atlantis) and becomes very likeable and is the main source of comedy in atlantis, he plays a very different character than his character in sg1.

spoiler below contains information about the other cast members that you will probably like. i didnt include what happens to the characters, but i do say if they leave or not. so its only a semi spoiler
weir (general chick) is the leader of the expedition for the 1st 3 seasons and is quite annoying, although she doesnt go offworld so she gets about as much airtime as general hammond. At the start of season 4 she is no longer the leader and only appears in a few episodes and she isnt in season 5 at all. She is replaced by carter from SG1. Teyla (afro chick) is still in the team in season 4, although i think she is pregnant in real life, so she may leave the show). and lieutenant ford becomes a casual to the show in the second season and is replaced by a character very similar to Te'alc.


id reccommend you watch atlantis though as its very rewarding and gets almost as good as the best eps of SG1. It has the same writers and directors afterall

Yea bill just watch atlantis, ull like it, Mckay is alot better in Atlantis then he was in the few eps we saw him in SG-1. Also sheppard is great. Teyla too. Just watch it, the wraith are a very cool enemy!
