finally we see it fly!! that was cool but the ep wasnt that great. When I watched it I got kinda anoyed because there where some obvious ways they could have buyed more time. Like maybe ram the satelite with Apollo over and over again (i think it should get alot of problems aiming at atlantis then) or why not fly apollo under the satelite instead of that litle rock? or why not both? and why did they use missiles to attack the replicators when they could have flown a stargate in to the replicators sun and blow it up like sam once did?

@Robert88 In SG1 when they did the stargate blowing up the sun trick trick didn't they have a blackhole on the other side that they dialed to? I was thinking why not simply ram the satelite with an asteroid apollo could work too if they kept pushing it since you only have to move it a tiny bit for it to miss the city due to the distance, flying apollo into the beam wouldn't work, since it would be destroy after a few seconds.  But they should have destroyed it as soon as it came to the planet before waiting for it to activate, ooh look a sattelite, (could it be the replicators retaliating), lets wait and see what happens.

I used to be a member on torrentbits, and torrentbytes (early stages) where pre-times where never an issue. In fact, it was one of the fastest around. When something would be pre'd, TBY would have it in a few minutes. Sadly, that changed when I rejoined. To bad....

You got a PM back.

*timeouts ftw..

Torrentbits were the days and the uploader we had then (R0dman) was great at upping eps but it's over now.

Anyhow I just got up and I'm now watching it. Hope it's a goodie!

Freaking amazing episode!

oh boy, I almost past out knowing I have to wait a few months to see how they gonna survive now out there in the middle of nowhere. Sure there could been different solutions to the problem, but hell.. they were in a rush, it seems. I thought, why just not move the city a few miles, so it has to 'trace' the city again. Anything to buy them some more hours. Ah well, this kind of episodes makes it worth watching. First the aliens, now the super canon out of space.

Cool episode.

I agree they should have just rammed the satellite with the Apollo. :-/

But at Pavy: Hitting the satellite would not have meant hours of recalibrating, I believe it would have taken the satellite a few seconds to find it's bearings again after being hit. I thought hitting would be a good idea to destroy it (or just damage it), not to just knock it away. :hmmm:

maybe it's just me, but if Thor was there with a bunch of the smartest scientists they had, the probity could have started a zpm production line, or at least had way better generators then are currently there.  At the same time Thor's people may even find info to help shields on there ships and making droids.... all of which would defenetly help fighting wrath and Ori.

SGA was a nice cliffhanger.. maybe not the best buildup to it but hey.. it worked D: Altho, imo it sucked that they hadn't changed the intro to not include
Carson! I mean, wth.. he's dead.. OR maybe not!? ^^

He's been gone two episodes. They'll change it for next episode because it's a new season.

Great SG:Canada episode, all those fillers paid off in the production value in this one

and

OMG!!! they actually hired an American actor to play an American character (the new Apollo Captain). He was very good as well had a Denzel sort of vibe going on.

Edit:
I did a no no and started browsing the Scifi forum and came across a spoiler which I think is the greatest that will happen to this show EVER!!

They are going to be marginalizing Dr Canada's role to just a reoccuring rather than a main when they bring over some of the characters from sg1 (mainly Carter)

Mckay is one of the main reasons i watch SG:A .  Carter is a boring character who can't act and sends me to sleep.

Yaya i was a little quick to write that, but what i meant to say is.. It was a really crappy way to go, explosive tumour.. yay :S Then the even lamer ending, and then they cba to remove him from the intro Just feels like a lame way for your character to leave a show..
And about him beeing gone two episodes, i don't always watch the intro, so i didn't notice it last episode : )
Can't be hard to just edit him out of it, add some extra blueish stuff/clips so it fits with the music. And when S4 airs, use the new totally remade intro with all the characters joining from SG-1 for next season. Would have felt better, imo ! But that's just me eh ?

SG1 was well, good. Not much special knowing it's ending very soon, and absolutely no sign of the
Oracle (w/e they are called). They had to put those Lucius alliance in there, what I absolute hate. Same folks as those Jed'i guys from Atlantis, sigh. They look like some folks that filled up some spots, since they were running out of ideas.

SG-Atlantis was a lot better, definitely!

indeed the SGA episode was freakin' amazing especially the effects! Nukes!

Im just wondering why didn't they put Rodney or someone else for that matter to the ascending machine, make him a super genius and voila and as we saw the effect was undo able so why not exploit it but well it was an amazing episode still.

Thank fucking God, McKay leaving would probably lead me to not watch anymore, no joke. :-/

PS, as I was watching the ep seeing the scene where Weir was talking about resigning and how she got blown up at the end I was thinking about you and how pleased you'd be to see her leave/die.

I was hoping they'd start wrapping things up in SG-1, preping for the finale. Instead, it was just another filled ep. Didn't we already have an episode where the Lucian alliance places a bounty on SG-1?

At any rate, I liked the convention thing, with them pretending like they can't make a plasma rifle prototype work, and subsequently firing that same gun to the great amusement of the public who thought that was part of the presentation

I think it's to late in the show to start building character's like they did with Cam's reunion and his high school sweetheart. Instead, they should have focused on one story, maybe throw in a B plot, as opposed to showing how Daniel spent his day in the library and how Teal'c got shot, et cetera... All they did, was water it down.

And I agree with Pavy in that the Lucian alliance has turned into self-mockery, but not in the "good" sense as the Goa'uld were portrayed. No, they're like the minor bad guys that the writers just pull out whenever they feel like it and then simply brush underneath the carpet until next time. Just like the Jenai in SG:A.

As for SG:A, I had 2 major grudges while I watched the show.
One, how convenient is it to simply beam in and out of an Alteran (Ancient) super-city shield? The whole time, ever since the gate appeared, they've had the city shield active and that captain's been beaming in and out every other second! :slap:
My god, if the Wraith ever laid hands on the Orion's beaming device! (and they understand the underlying principle, given how quickly they learnt to prevent the Orion from beaming in nukes aboard their hive ships)
They already have similar technology build into their darts, so go figure...

Two, didn't the team bomb the city's thrusters  with drones, to prevent the Replicators from flying it over to Earth the last time? Who repaired that, when and why?  :look:

Ive been saying from the get go that her annoying canadian accent was a distraction and I bet that it played a large part in her upcoming reduction in the show.  Even if she were playing a canadian character it was too heavy and the fact is a heavy canadian accent is very grating to an American audience and that is the shows core demographic.

well you live in England(i assume)so its like comparing how you sound to the welsh. To us over here in North America it might sound like you both have typical english accents but to you guys the is a very noticable difference.

I suppose it must be, and personally I find that very shocking as Welsh/Irish/Scottish people all have very distinct accents compared to British ones (or at least I think we do). :-O
