I'm pretty bummed by the most recent episode.  Why did they kill Carson? What's the deal with killing off doctors in SG?

Im abit split here with all the episode mixups


is the episode tao of rodny before the episode sunday or is it the episode after

sunday 14
tao of rodney 15

in that case the why are carson in both episodes when the end of sunday was how it was that he died

u answered your own question. it goes after them, because in those two epps hes still alive. 314 == 318, 318 == 319


the epp order that everyone goes off is what was released to the TV guides and fan sites (ie gateworld). so yes there was a mixup

Just watched atlantis, and what a load of crap.

Shame that Scottish guy died, but the way it was done was sadly quite annoying. 2 pps go on a mission, come back and get send out with a "your alright". Then it's suddenly kaboem!, and rodney says "well they got explosive tumors behind there longs". A few min later, carson denies to go out (WTF? when did he ever stay to help someone anyway, he always been a guy with his tale between his legs), and then suddenly brings the bomb away (why not wait for the proper people). They messed this up, but seeing how it been going the past weeks with stargate atlantis, meh. Enterprise *deja-vu*

after the exposior to the radiation nothing showed up on the cat scans. and im sure that looking for tumors isnt regular procedure.

If he hadnt taken the bomb away 3 people would have died instead of 2.

well at least the doctor in SG1 got to die in a heroic way trying saving a mans life on the battlefield that actually made me feel sad and the episode was well done to suit it. The SG:Canada guy died from an exploding tumor in a cooler becuase nobody wanted to go fishing with him

well it kind of makes you wonder about the behind the camera politics on the set. I bet off camera that guy must have been one gigantic jackass and doing him like this was the ultimate payback.

I think they should stop making atlantis. First rainbow sun francs and now beckett. I dont get these producers. Why didnt they just renew the guys contract. This series is officially dead to me. Its made a weird turn with season3 and i dont know if i can call this stargate.

Well, that doctor from SG1 never goes on fieldmissions... it's odd she was out there in the first place.
Like how many SG1 missions have you seen where they actually bring a doctor ? But she wasn't just a doctor... she was the only doctor in the whole SGC.


The last scene with Carson is ... odd...
In SG, when people die, they are gone. Only in special occasions do we get to see them again. People's dreams, hallucinations, ascended beings, "ghosts" etcetcetc.
What exactly did we see? Seeing that it was McKay, it's probably a dream or hallucination like the ones he has with Sam in it. "His selfconsciousness projected a conversation with Carson to help him deal with the traumatic loss of his best friend".

In the story it's unlikely that Carson will return.. also, eventhough he went on quite some missions and actually does a lot more than the SG1 doctor... he's not really considered a main character. There's no reason to bring him back. If the writers ever need a doctor they'll just fly in a newbie from earth. Or maybe they'll take the hot doctor from SG1 (Daniels RL wife :o ).

I disagree. We'll see him again, sometime in the future. He'll probably show up in an "alternate dimension" episode (like Kwalaski in SG1 - died in ep2 and then in s3 he came from a diff dimension to rejoin our SG1 dimension). Or McKay might go back and pull a "Chrono Trigger" swap - drop an inaminate clone of Beckett right before the bomb goes off and take the living Beckett to the future. This way they avoid paradox problems, etc. I wouldn't be shocked if the "Cliffhanger" of next season is a timetravel one. So you never know. Plus - they did end s3ep14 with Beckett saying "You'll never know (when you'll see me again)." The actor himself claims it was a surprise that he was killed off, and that he'd very much like to continue with the SG:Francise. He may come back as an enemy. I dunno.

P.S. -   Please don't call SG: Atlantis  "SG:Canada." There are several Canadian actors on SG1, and both series are largely filmed in Canada. The special effects in both series are done exclusively by a Canadian firm. Some of the writers are Canadian. The crew of both series is largely Canadian.

(BTW-the actor that plays Beckett, whom I assume you all loved, moved at age 2 from Scotland to, you guessed it, Canada. He has lived almost his entire life in Vancouver)

All i know is that i am sad that doctor beckett is gone he may not have been a main character but he is or rather was a great suppliment to the others and his unique point of view

I will miss him much and the story wont be the same without him

but still in ep 14 he dies and in ep 15 he is alive

yes the episode 15 was aired before 14 but still is there a new order or should i follow the old one

in that case it still make no sence since beckett dies in 14 but lives in 15

In gateworld ep list sunday is nr 17 so which is right

and at tv.com ep list it is 14

i think this is the first time a major character was killed without making a huge fuss over it. other epps they spend the hole epp on them and you kinda see it coming when they die. this was much more random and i liked it because of this. he was killed just like the other randoms that always die each epp.

Just found Stargate Atlantis.DSR.03x18.Mp3.Xvid.avi on a website wich I am not going to name but it has the words mini and nova in the URL aswell as the ending .org
