Yeah, incredible.

I knew that it was gonna be the whales creating the ghost images as Sam created the image of Sam Carter when Rodney was trapped.

This episode didn't sit in with me too well, the "story" was ridiculously simplistic.
The whales/visions connection was obvious from the get go and the odds of them ever seeing a solar phenomenon like that in their short stay on Atlantis were astronomical (3:15,000). Not to mention the fact that a repeat event such as that wouldn't actually strike the same place again, given the star's rotation and the planet's movement.
Damn, I'm overthinking it again, aren't I? :-(

Anyway, all of that made the plot feel way too stretched... Too much suspension of disbelief for no good reason whatsoever + a predictable first 30 minutes.

Not to mention McKay's boasting about being "able to run several ground-penetrating radar tests" to "test the dielectric permittivity of the region's subsurface" :huh:

What was he doing that for?

Why couldn't he just say he was mapping the planet's EM field or whatever, so we could all understand what he was saying? :grumpy:

Edit: I found some articles on Non-Destructive Testing in Civil Engineering and the method seems genuine on first glance. Still don't understand why he was checking the region's subsurface though, unless he was planning on building a house out there? :-P

No, I mean the whales created the image of Samantha.

We thought before that Rodney made the image as it was his subconscious or whatever but now I mean it's more obvious that the whales made the image of her with their leet projection powers.

Edit: Actually, probably not. The holograms of the Ancients were from memory, the whales have no memory of Samantha Carter so you're probably right.

That's the only thing I disagreed with, it aiming for exactly the same place after that long, makes no sense to me. :lol:

Yea first time seeing was freaky. Loved this episode.. Lots of funny momets and lots of Teyla!!! and ronon!!! oke.. the plot was stupid.. tjhey gave away 2 ZPM's(MORONS!!!!) and surely they can protect themself from a solar wave!!(yeaaaa suuuuure)

gotta love stargate and their crazy plans ^^

Gieven the state of SG-1 I have to say that this was a decent ep, I mean that show has gotten weak and even tho this had some cheesey moments it was better than what the other show has had coming out. What's up with Teyla and Ronan are we going to see our 1st SG marriage or are they going to play it out like O'Neil and Carter?

Meh... was kinda disappointed by this one....they seem to have left the whole wraith thing behind lately...and to put something like this on....I agree with Calidus.....the whole point of that event re-ocurring over and over every so many years...ok thats fine but to strike at the same point....meh they have a new zpm lets get back to kicking the wraiths a$$!

because if they did the flare would wipe out all life on the planet and they couldnt go back because their would be no oxygen.

Who said it was a cam? Perhaps someone in the world has a TV card and just happened to record it using that, then seeing there was no scene release was kind enough to up. it? :blink:
