I hate to say it but i have to agree wit you guys, theres no backbone to this season, each episode is quite random and the only link is to work michael has been doing on random planets. Each episode ends abruptly, theres no ongoing storyline as such so nothing to look forward to when the next episode airs.
I'm a huge fan or stargate but this season of atlantis is without a doubt the worst season (so far) of both series.

This just keep getting more amazing. We are now SEVEN episodes in, and none of them have established any overall storyline. None of them even have anything to do with each other.

Infact, seven sounds small, but if you think of it, it actually is 1/3 of a season !!! Which means that, so far, 33% of the season has been fillers.

it looks like they are short on budget somehow, doing mostly character driven pieces. Usually the actual story episodes are quiet expensive in comparison, so maybe this season will have a big ending if you want to be optimistic lol

How about a story where they actually find a ZPM (or more than one)...or where they made them...or perhaps even a cool outpost....for crying out loud -- something Ancienty lol....these "medieval" backdrops are soo freakin annoying.

720p version came out like 1h 30min ago Stargate Atlantis S05E07 720p HDTV x264-2HD.

Fuck the story, If all episodes would move story further, we wouldnt even get 3 seasons.

yes, this is the last season
@beasty54 story isnt the most important thing. if youd ask which id watch : 10 seasons of low story filled show, or 3 seasons of very story rich show, then id choose 10 seasons any time. Obviously there has to be some story every once in a while, but thats it. If all shows go 100% on story, then we wouldnt have anything to watch.
If i could choose between 10 seasons of story free episodes, or 10 seasons of story rich episodes, then i would obviously choose the story rich episodes, its a very big bonus! but its not going to happen, so you have to prioritize. My priority is having lots on entertaining stuff to watch, instead of watching a few seasons and thinking "Wow , the story was so great..but now its over and i have to wait for a miracle release of the next superb show" , while in the meantime theres nothing to watch!

Yeah i kinda see your point but when would you ever see 10 seasons of a show that doesn't have some kind of interesting storyline? Season 5 of Atlantis for example, If season 1 had started off this dull you would have been lucky to see season 2, i suppose what i'm trying to say (and so are a few others) is Atlantis is no longer entertaining, the viewers have dropped and thats why its been axed.

SG1 had an excellent story throughout and it continued from week to week and thats why it survived so long, if i wanted individual storys each week i'd watch something like the outer limits or the x-files

I maybe watched about 5 minutes of the episode and just jump slide through the rest to the last 2 min. Since finding out its getting cancelled I just dont care anymore.

brr, if anything is going to be bad, its universe, the inital plot is horrible, though i hope not .. please not a startrek like series

I didnt really mind the weak story plots or filler, what bothered me most about atlantis was the cast.

let's face it guys, atlantis was doomed from the beginning: teyla and dr. weir(d) ... both quite boring characters and bad actresses (especially the actress playing teyla)

i would've killed them off right after season 1 ...

shepard and ronon werent exactly great either but always ok to watch. only highlight of the show imo always was mckay ...

but, to be fair, atlantis had to bear a heavy burden right from the beginning, as many saw it as a spiritual successor to SG1, and the atlantis team team couldnt even scratch the surface of the brilliance that was o'neill, jackson, carter and teal'c ...
