a filler means an episode that doesnt add to the storyline of the show, hence s5e6=filler

Oh comon nobody cares about their relationship.
The main story of the episode had an beginning and an end which concluded the entire problem in that episode. Next time it's gonna be something new again.

There was no main story progression and the only character development was during the last 30 seconds of the episode, its a filler.

u should read joseph mallozzi's blog from time to time its always interesting,

"Well, given that the series has been created by Brad Wright and Robert Cooper who will assume co-show running duties once SGU goes into prep, one can expect a certain level of quality. After all, these are the guys who, between them, have written such episodes as Sateda, Beachhead, Unending, Abyss, Meridian, 2010, Torment of Tantalus, and, most recently, The Shrine. They are adept at crafting stories that are fast-paced and entertaining yet resonate with the humanity and spirit of the characters at their core."

Those 2 guys always make great episode and The shrine was no different. It was simply superb. If u didnt like it okay but dont call it a filler.

a little further in his blog post:
Tardishart writes: “Stand alone? What? To me that just says filler, no connections emotionally to what has gone before.”

Answer: I disagree. Last night’s episode, for instance, was what I would consider a standalone. The story was self-contained and yet it contained instances that paid off past episodes and developed elements for future stories.

The problem with episodes like this week is its a great storyline with a serious tone and some of the actors can pull it off (McCay, Woosley, John), but the Ronin's and Teyla's completely destroy the feel with their shitty wooden acting.

i dont mind ronin actually, what really bothers me seriously, is the goodam teyla, seriously...
she is way to spiritual, even when she lives in atlantis and knows that most of the "magic" she sees is ancient tech, she still doesnt let go of the spiritual stuff, like calling the place a "shrine" <.<

True their story always been shitty. Especially Teyla.. she doesnt add anything to the show at all. Atleast Ronon shows his coolness in fighting!

Yeah Ronin has proved his worth in several cool fight scenes but Teyla should have been written off the show when she had the kid and replaced by another woman like the doctor chick from Firefly (McKay's gf).
She would have been alright out on the mission trips.   If not her then someone cute, but smart.

Yes!, If I have to listen to Teyla sing one more time I'll kill myself. Or to be less of a drama queen.. stop watching the show at least

Also... Teal'c >>>>>> Ronin. Ronin overplays his role as a wounded tough guy with difficult past and lacks good humor.

Too many Canadian actors tbh.

Pointless filler. Once again.
I won't be watching the next episode until after I've read what happens in it.

I can just imagine the previews for next weeks ep now..

Fillers, fillers and some more fillers.. Are they gonna wait for the last episode for some progress is made?

This is the last seson, right? They will probably wrap all up in the last episode. :/

I missed s5e6, looks like I'll save the BW.

s5e5 had massive potential for a cool story arch, but they killed that pretty quick ;(

The SCI FI Channel is ending Stargate Atlantis after five seasons, Multichannel News reports.

The show will go on, though, with a 2-hour movie that will air on SCI FI in 2009, and be released on DVD by MGM. The film will be written by executive producers Joseph Mallozzi and Paul Mullie.
