If I understood this correctly, the two seems to have nothing to do with each other at all. It seems Reese and the ancients both made their own replicators without any connection to each other at all.

Reese started making block replicators, which later evolved on their own into human form. And the ancients made the human form replicators from start.

Now I am curious to when each event happened. Which was the first replicator!?

Just saw the episode where Carson dies. And damn it, he was such a good character. Anyone know why he left the show?

probably personal things, although in the stargate universe it doesnt necessarily mean you wont see him again, just think of kowalski, he died in the 2nd sg1 and he mustve been in another 5 or so, fraser appeared in an episode after she died too

Yeah, so do I. Atlantis was pretty good for the first season, but its just been downhill, especially this season, main reason being that this whole Teyla shite is just a bs story. SG-1 was the best, and it still is, I have no idea why they canceled it because even in the last 2 seasons without RDA, it still was way better than atlantis.

Not for me, Im liking Atlantis more and more were I stopped liking SG-1 ever since vala and mitchell came on the show.(not that they are bad but im used to them in farscape and seeing them in SG-1 wasnt that great, especially vala with her stupid bitching all the time. Mitchell is cool but they didnt give him much to do on his own!) And offcourse RDA leaving was the definate kill for me!

Im about the watch the season finale of season 3. And I am absolutely not requesting that someone pack the fourth season down into a torrent and upload it. Cause that I can do on other torrentsites right?

Damn it that Weir is annoying me. Trying to negotiate with the replicators and the Wraith. Biatch.

Milkyway, is that not just our solar system? Or perhaps solar system is a galaxy. My astronomics is a bit withered, but I always thought a galaxy was a spiral of several different solar systems. That the milky way is just a spike out of a much bigger galaxy.

The Milky Way (a translation of the Latin Via Lactea, in turn derived from the Greek Γαλαξίας (Galaxias) sometimes referred to simply as "the Galaxy"), is a barred spiral galaxy that is part of the Local Group of galaxies. Although the Milky Way is one of billions of galaxies in the observable universe,[4] the Galaxy has special significance to humanity as it is the home galaxy of the planet Earth. The Milky Way galaxy is visible from Earth as a band of light in the night sky, and it is the appearance of this band of light which has inspired the name for our galaxy.

Thanks for making me Wiki that. Great to re-learn some astronomy I used to be decent. Funny that it's taking Atlantis/SG to get me re-learning it tho

On the 9th chevron, I can't see them doing it. The parallel world thing has been done to death, even the characters in the show don't enjoy when it happens.

Something that sorta bugs me is no one in any other galaxy anywhere in the systems ever goes exploring except if attacking a known planet? Stargate travel, other than SG appears to be used only for war, warped or what...

Every time they go "exploring" they just get into deeper shit.

Yeah, in now 14 seasons of Stargate I only think I've seen two other planets have explorers such as earth does.

Anyways, the ninth chevron will definitly be done. Read up on it on gateworld.net. Just what-it-does is still a mystery. Perhaps it goes back and forth in time?
And I second that parallell thing. I so hate it when they do that. It was enough already the first time they did it in SG1, and their still doing it in Atlantis now.

I read somewhere that the 9th chevron is to travel to some kind of spaceship... not like atlantis, but still some kind of ship. So no matter where you are or where the spaceship is... you will get there with the 9th.

Yeah according to the leaked gateworld news post
its about two ships, one that places new stargates (seeder ship) and another ship which follows it which can be reached by using the 9th chevron.

But it could've changed since then..

http://www.trekbbs.com/showthread.php?t=43992 for more detail. Gateworld forums remove every trace of it when ever its posted about which does kinda confirm its truth..

Spolier tags incase anyone doesn't want to know.

Man if thats true that it goes to some sort of "Seeder ship" crap, its gonna SUCK imo, i always though the lanteans traveled to planets themself to put stargates there... would be cooler.

I agree, It would ruin like a whole concept of the stargate history. It was always very clear that the lanteans created the stargates and were called the gatebuilders in early SG-1 seasons. I would hate to see that they (or some other race) just made a spaceship which did the job for them.

I dont think they would introduce a ninth chevron for time travel which can be done with only 7 and a solar flare. Since Atlantis has the technology to predict them, it would mean the ninth chevron would only be for time travel at any moment. Also they already had a jumper (or more?) with time travel capability.

Well it makes sense, why would they go and put a gate on every planet if they can just automate it with a seeder ship?

According to the leaked article it was the lanteans who built the ship and sent it out to seed the galaxies with gates; with the second ship following somewhere between 10K and a million years after to see how the planets/civilisations had progressed. But they ascended before they ever used the ship to explore so it would be the humans going and finding new races & stargate seeded planets first, races that weren't genetically seeded by the lanteans - so it has more possibilites for other races and stories I guess.

I still agree though, not the greatest premise for a show - I loved how they linked Atlantis into SG1 - this just seems like its been thrown together as a brand new sci fi show, but adjusted to fit into the sg1 franchise.

I wonder how they discover it.

It would be pretty lame to start a new spin-off series by just saying "o look we found this, lets go there".
On the other hand... thats the main theme of the show... so they can't really build up an "SG-1" story arch towards it.

I also wonder who they will send to explore it.

Although Farscape fans probably disagree, I wouldnt mind seeing more of Mitchel and Vala.

Yea, maybe they discover the ship like the did with the aurora, flying around in space, doing nothing. and then they start it up and viola we have a new show. xD

People... a ship is hardly exciting. It's gotta be something better than that.

I do agree, and I also worry that it will just end up being a re-iteration of SG1 finding new races, then a superior race who enslaves the races they find etc etc.

But who knows, the ship could just be the starting point of the story; they could take the plot anywhere. Finding the furlings even?

Though what love most about stargate is that its deeply rooted in human mythology and seeing that play out for explanations of legends. Even Atlantis, as it was a side step from SG1 and the "lost city of atlantis", kind of helped me get started on the show and appretiate it for what it was as a decent sci-fi/action/even sit-com in places.

But all of this is just from the leaked gateworld article, until we know 100% what the plot will be based upon, how its integrated into the stargate universe and I've seen a fair few episodes I wont make a final judgement.

There is always the possibility that they discover some hints about the seeder ship and the one following it in atlantis since it was most likely build by them. They could then start off the series with a cross-over with the startgate atlantis team. I however think they can do 2 things from there on.
Once they get on the ship and find its abandoned they could set up camp there, start a new outpost and do the whole SG1 thing again. This could also mean they could try to fly the ship themselves. Of they just use it as some sort of stop from earth to get a stargate adress and travel to a planet.

I hope they go with the new outpost since the ship itself will most likely be huge too and worth exploring.

Another question though: How will they get the power to use the ninth chevron, since the eight chevron already requires a ZPM
