Hey Bill, I thought exactly the same thing as you, but then I'm changing my mind now. Just sit through the first season of Atlantis and you'll start liking the show.

It's noway near as good as SG1, but they have some great standouts. For instance, they have the coolest Asgard of them all as a guest in some episodes. I forgot his name but he's really cranky and pretty much works against his will lol.

And McKay is seriously the best character in there. In SG1 I hated his guts. But here he is not just annoying, he is more. He has plenty of strange sides to him that makes it interesting to watch how he deals with situations. Infact, some of the most memorable moments in the series is with him.

If you want more Stargate then I absolutely can reccomend it, while we wait for the two next SG1 movies. I just hope it doesnt last for ten seasons as SG1 did. I am more excited about SG Universe really.

Your right Cetra, it takes a while before u start to like Atlantis, I remember me being all mad cuz they started this show, but when I think back im happy they did! Atlantis becomes better and better! and ull see some SG-1 chars appearing from time to time, wich is great!

That's the thing though, he was written to be an arsehole in SG1 but they want him to be loved in this, so he's very different.

He was busy playing agent Dogget in Xfiles. It was only a guest appearence.

I usualy suspect whats gonna happen, whos gonna die and who lives in SG-1, but not in atlantis. john dogget was killed in the first episode, WTH. And his infamous. That alone puts a twist in the show.
I hope that Xena slut gets killed. Cause shes so lame. I feel like a kid watching her talk/fight, so lame. But than again, this is another galaxy, and women are built in another way then in the Milky way. I guess i need more imagination from my part. ps. shes hot!!!

and about mckay, holy shit his a good acter. I take back what i said earlier.

Ima try watch a lil more against my will.

i couldnt go by without asking "SG Universe"??? I would google it, but i dont have time, so why not ask the fans here. Is it what i think it is? a new kind of SG show?

Yup SG: Universe is a new stargate spinoff, coming in 2009 I believe. Still dont know much about it other than that its coming.

And just sit though the first season of Atlantis, after that it gets more interesting by the ep..

Atlantis gets much better as the seasons go on. As previously discussed I don't feel it's anywhere near as "deep" as SG:1, it's got a lot of annoying characters in the early days, but they get some pretty cool technology from time to time. (It just sorta turns up, they never really both trying to find/quest for stuff, which is why I miss Carter and Jackson).

The cameos are great, and as things progress travel to Earth becomes really easy, so there's a lot of cross universe adventures, which is well cool

I'd say skip the first season and ask someone who's recently watched it to fill you in. A lot of really boring stuff up until around EP10/11 if I remember correctly...all character forming BS, but the characters have all developed so much since then it doesn't even really matter...

Yes it was just a workprint. An unfinished movie.

The workprint is pretty good quality btw, theres not much missing, atleast I didnt notice anything.

Just saw The Ark of Truth. Finally we can put the Ori behind us.
Didn't have much of a "movie feel" I have to say. It was more like a great two parter. I wish they would have made more video of the ancients.

It would be good if half an hour was dedicated to showing what happened many million years ago, instead they just sum it up in a few minutes. I would love to have a video summary of the original feud between the Ori and the Ancients - how they split up and grew apart. I would also love to see the first stargate ever built.

Anyways, the end of season 7 was much better. And so was the end of season 10 I think. I heard Continuum is gonna be alot better because of a gigantic budget. Lets hope it will. Still nice to have gotten rid of origin.

Gateworld! google it and use it, ur best source for stargate info, main page got lots of good information over everything and their forums are great too, u should check it out :cool:

Jnk19, I'm sitting in an internet cafe, and have been VNCing to my home PC, checking to see if this torrent's dropped. God they've holding out on us AGAIN!

RE Arc of Truth

I enjoyed it. Was defo a more 2 part EP than a movie. A huge building climax lasting almost the whole movie than resolved in the last 20 minutes. Sorta a bit sucky in that way. Was really great to see Jackson back in the game talking about discoveries and technology. He seems to have a good sense of morality. Vala's(sp) about the quest for enlightenment/bettering ourselves at the end was a great view of the purpose of religion. Nice to see Carter back in action again. She looked pretty hot in the movie too I gotta say :lol:

. Chucked a bit of a teary when the Ancient chick came down at the end, very maternal, was great.
