I had same black screen effect when I burned the dvd with 4x speed. Everything worked just fine when I burned it again with 2x. Hopefully this helps other people too!

question.
A friend of mine has a PS2 but no money, so we made a slidecard (found a diagram on the internet, and i downloaded "Swap Magic Dvd 3.6.iso" for him. Now i was wondering, the image is a bit over 100mb. Should i burn this on a dvd, or on a cd? Does it matter at all?
Or anybody know a place where i can find a other bootcd/dvd wich should work?

Hey guys... I have a question... I just got a xbox today and I am planning to do the soft mod to it. My question is ..... can I play PAL games on it? or am I limited to NTSC (I am in the US with a US xbox)
as long as your tv isn't old a NTSC box can play PAL (sometimes the videos have a little problem but overall everything works fine)
i've never had a problem downloading a pal release

Hi,
today a friend bought a X-Box and now we want to play some burned games but we don't got a chip for it. Is it possible to copy the games on a harddrive and play them from the HDD or do he need to buy a chip first?
i am currently downloading the NFS Most wanted demo and now i want to know if i need a chip for this too?

Short answer, yes, you need a chip anyway... or if you're brave you can try softmodding it.
check: http://www.xbox-scene.com/index.php for tutorials and more...
I think you can burn the demo on a cd or dvd and play, but I'm not sure. (I've never downloaded demos for xbox games)

Greetings, i got myself a modded xbox and i have some problems playing dvds. When i choose play dvd in xbmc, xbmc restarts. But i can open the dvd and choose specific file to launch (video_ts\audio_ts) choose a *.vob which shows some part of the movie. I wonder if there is a setting or something that i need to adjust? I do use newest xbmc. And we are talking about original dvds.

I have a ps2 which I bought the case mod and swap disc for (swap magic 3). I have burnt a few games for it and it is really hit or miss. Most of the games I burned play real shitty. I get lots of chop in video and sound, sound and video being out of sync and extremely long load times. I don't get it. I'm using Memorex dvds, burned at the slowest possible speed(4x). It's real annoying because I want to play these games, but the lag issues are just unbearable. What is causing this, why, and how can I remedy it?

No, rips= they have ripped(deleted/removed) certain "unnecessary" things, things that you don't need to play the game. For instance, movies, extras etc. So all that's left is mostly the gameplay depending on how much they've ripped.
edit: I for one, hate rips since it destroys the total gamefeeling imo

Where your console come from doesn't matter, it's what chip you have that matters.
So if you have one of the more common chips then you're able to play all region games one way or another.

Swap Magic seems temperamental with games, I would advise a proper modchip for the PS2.

Actually, i wouldn't advise a Mod Chip at all...
Swap Magic for me is the safest solution. It's not as reliable as a mod chip, but it's pretty much reliable.
In my extense list of PS2 games (over 100) i only recall having problems playing Splinter Cell Chaos Theory and God of War. Even those 2 i got to work and boot perfectly.
Conlusion, i've never downloaded a game that wouldn't work with my 3 year old PS2 and my Swap Magic 3.0. Both DVDs are still working like a charm, the slide card is still in one piece (altough i made a few spares to keep safe) and i don't have problems with bad chip instalations or void warranty or anything of the sort.
The only flaw that the Swap Magic has for me is the swaping process u have to do everytime your backup boots, but once u get used to it, u'll do it in a blink and won't make any difference. For me it doesn't...
The mod chip is expensive (here mod chip installers charge 80+ € wich is half the price of the console and 4 times the price of a Swap Magic), it can be badly installed and screw your PS2 and if your PS2 is new, it will void yor warranty.
I like to compare it as the Boot Procedure for the DC. Who would install a mod chip when u had a completely functional boot procedure?
you would know how much that it goes cost xbox 360
?
um its either $300 or $400 (the $400 is the only one worth getting )
if you are talking about a modchip then you are going to have to wait for awhile

Hi
Can someone please direct me to a tutorial that will explain how to configure my XBox to play the games I download from here directly from its hard drive?
I believe its possible to hook up the hard drive to a PC so that I can copy the games across to the XBox hard drive without the need for a DVD writer and that I can upload some kind of fix that will enable the playing of games without a modchip?
Thanks
-edit-
I dont play online at all, so I am not worried about losing this functionality

I'm having problems getting Star Wars Battlefront II to work. I've burnt it the same way I usually burn games, I burnt it at 2x speed with DVD Decrypter onto a DVD-R but when i load it with Swap magic is says 'Invalid PS2 disc.' If i got some DVD+Rs, would that make a difference?
Can anybody help?
